Fits Helkama E2800, E2800A, Jopo Electro, and TE2800 e-bike models with original 25.2V lithium-ion battery packs.
25.2V nominal voltage delivers consistent motor assist across pedal strokes; 18000mAh capacity restores full range to aging bikes losing climbing power.
Battery slides into the e-bike frame slot with connector oriented toward the motor controller; locking tab seats flush against the frame mount.
We bench-tested the pack on a motor load simulator — BMS held steady through sustained hill-climbing draw without early voltage cutoff or thermal throttling.
After winter storage, insert the battery into the charger and wait 30 minutes before riding; cold cells below 5°C show reduced output until the pack warms up from motor current.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Helkama E2800 / Jopo Electro Series — 25.2V Li-ion 18000mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 25.2V lithium-ion battery pack rated at 18000mAh (453.6Wh), built to replace the original pack in Helkama E2800, E2800A, Jopo Electro, and TE2800 electric bicycles. When the factory pack loses charging capacity and range, this is the direct swap. Voltage, physical dimensions (272.50 × 153.50 × 103.80mm), and connector layout match the original mount point.

  • E2800 and Jopo Electro platform fit: These models share the same frame battery bay, 25.2V motor controller voltage rail, and BMS communication protocol. One pack covers all listed variants without adapter modifications.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated motor-assist load draws and monitored BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit held stable under sustained climbing current without triggering false low-voltage shutdowns.
  • First charge after winter storage: If the bike has been stored unridden through winter, charge at the lowest available rate setting before the first full session. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and pushing full charge current below 10°C causes lithium plating on the anode that permanently reduces cycle life.

E2800 motor cutting out mid-hill on a new battery

Sustained climbing current on the E2800 motor draws significantly more amps than flat-road pedal assist. If the BMS detects a sustained high-current draw without a corresponding voltage recovery, it trips a protective cutoff to prevent cell damage. This is not a fault in the battery — it is the protection circuit doing its job. After the motor cuts, stop pedalling assist for five seconds to let the BMS reset, then resume at a lower assist level on steep grades.

Charger shows no activity after connecting a stored pack

If a Helkama pack has sat discharged for an extended period, cell voltage can drop below the threshold the charger uses to confirm a valid battery is connected. The charger will show no LED activity or fault-flash instead of a normal charge cycle. Connect the charger and leave it attached for up to 30 minutes — the BMS recovery circuit will slowly pull the cells back above acceptance voltage and the charger will then engage normally. If no response occurs after 45 minutes, check that resting pack voltage reads above 18V with a multimeter before proceeding.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Helkama E2800 motor keeps cutting out on steep hills even with the new battery — what's happening?

Sustained climbing current on the E2800 motor can exceed the BMS high-current threshold, triggering a protective shutdown to prevent cell overdraw. This is normal BMS behaviour, not a faulty pack. Stop pedalling assist for five seconds to allow the protection circuit to reset, then re-engage at a lower assist level. If cutouts happen repeatedly on moderate inclines, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a loose contact increases resistance and drops voltage faster under load.

The charger shows no lights and won't start charging after I left the battery sitting all winter — is the pack dead?

It is likely not dead — cells that have self-discharged over months can drop below the minimum voltage the charger uses to recognise a valid pack. Connect the charger and leave it undisturbed for 30 minutes. The BMS recovery circuit will slowly bring cells back above the acceptance threshold and the charger will begin its normal cycle. If there is still no response after 45 minutes, measure resting pack voltage at the connector — anything above 18V means recovery is possible; below that, the cells may have deep-discharged beyond recoverable range.

My E2800 loses noticeably more range on cold mornings — is the battery failing or is this normal?

This is normal Li-ion behaviour, not battery failure. Below 5°C, lithium-ion cells lose 15–25% of usable capacity because the electrolyte's ion conductivity drops in cold temperatures, raising internal resistance. Store the battery indoors overnight and fit it to the bike just before riding — carrying warmth from indoor storage recovers most of that cold-weather capacity drop. If range loss persists even on warm days after the battery has been in use for a season, that points to cycle degradation rather than temperature.
