Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra — 46.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (P2301-BD5A)
This is a 46.8V, 12750mAh (596.7Wh) Li-ion battery replacing OEM part P2301-BD5A. It fits the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra (P2301) and the Pro and Pro 2 Electric Scooter models. Same voltage rail, same connector, same BMS communication protocol as the factory pack.
- 4 Ultra, Pro, and Pro 2 compatibility: These models share the same 46.8V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake sequence. Swapping between them does not require firmware changes or adapter cables.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the 4 Ultra platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the scooter controller — charge acceptance, cell balancing, and protection cutoffs all operated within spec.
- Cold-start charging protocol: After any period of storage in temperatures below 10°C, use the standard Xiaomi charger at a low state of charge rather than a fast charger. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and pushing current into them before they warm up causes lithium plating on the anode that permanently cuts capacity.
BMS cutting out during hill start on the 4 Ultra
Hill starts pull peak current from the battery in under a second. On the 4 Ultra, this surge can hit 25–30A depending on rider weight and incline angle. If the battery is below roughly 30% state of charge, internal resistance rises enough that the voltage sag triggers the BMS over-current protection, cutting motor output instantly. The fix is straightforward: start the hill with the battery above 50% charge, and push off with your foot to reduce the initial current draw before the motor takes the full load.
Charger shows no activity after the scooter sat unused for months
Li-ion packs in storage self-discharge slowly. If cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a deep-discharge lockout state and the charger's LED shows nothing — no charge accepted, no response. To recover the pack, leave the charger connected for 20–30 minutes without interruption. Most BMS units on this platform will re-initialise once the trickle circuit pushes cells back above the acceptance threshold, typically around 2.8V per cell, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Xiaomi 4 Ultra cuts out completely halfway up a steep hill — battery shows 40% charge. What's causing it?
Voltage sag is the cause. On a steep incline with a heavier rider, peak current draw can exceed the BMS trip threshold even at mid-charge levels because internal resistance is higher than at full charge. The BMS reads the voltage drop as an over-current event and cuts motor output to protect the cells. Charge above 70% before routes with sustained climbs, and push off with your foot at the start of each hill to reduce that initial current spike.
My scooter's range is noticeably shorter in winter — sometimes feels like half what I get in summer. Is the battery failing?
It is not failing — this is normal Li-ion behaviour below 5°C. Cold cells cannot deliver the same charge capacity as warm ones; expect a 15–25% range reduction in temperatures around 5°C, and steeper losses below freezing. Store the scooter indoors overnight so the pack starts at room temperature, and ride at a lower throttle setting in the first few minutes to let the cells warm up under light load before drawing heavy current.
My Xiaomi Pro 2 shows the battery percentage dropping fast then jumping back up mid-ride. What does that mean?
That bounce pattern points to cell imbalance inside the pack. One or more cells are weaker than the rest and sag under load, pulling the pack voltage down and triggering a low-voltage reading, then recovering slightly when current drops at cruising speed. A genuinely imbalanced pack will worsen over charge cycles. Charge the scooter to 100% and leave it on the charger for a full hour after the green light — this gives the BMS time to run a top-balance cycle across all cells and can reduce the bounce if the imbalance is minor.
