Prophete 24V eBike — 24V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SDI-2510B)

This 24V 10400mAh (249.6Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on Prophete 24V electric eBikes, including 26 Zoll and 28 Zoll wheel variants and model 52404-0111. It slots into the same mounting position and connects to the same motor controller that the factory unit used. Voltage and capacity match the original SDI-2510B specification exactly.

  • 26 Zoll, 28 Zoll and 52404-0111 compatibility: These Prophete frames share the same 24V motor bus and identical battery cradle dimensions. The SDI-2510B connector and BMS communication protocol are consistent across the range, so one pack fits all listed variants without wiring modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through sustained motor-assist loads and monitored BMS cutoff thresholds. The protection circuit held the low-voltage cutoff at the expected 20V floor and re-engaged cleanly after a full charge cycle with no fault flags.
  • Post-winter recommissioning: After any storage period over six weeks, connect the charger and let the pack sit on a slow charge for at least two hours before riding. Cold or deeply rested Li-ion cells have elevated internal resistance — pushing the motor hard immediately compresses usable capacity and stresses the anode.

E-bike motor cutting out mid-hill on a new battery

A fresh pack can still trip the BMS on a steep climb if the motor draws more current than the protection circuit allows. Prophete 24V systems pull high peak current when the motor fights gradient and rider weight simultaneously. The BMS reads that spike as an over-current fault and cuts output to protect the cells. If this happens, stop pedalling, wait 10 seconds for the BMS to reset, then restart with lighter pedal pressure on the incline.

Charger light stays green but battery reads low voltage after storage

If a stored pack has self-discharged below roughly 20V, most chargers will not enter CC/CV mode — they see the voltage as too low to accept a charge and report a false "full" signal. Connect the charger and leave it for 30 minutes without interruption. The charger's pre-charge trickle circuit will slowly raise cell voltage until the pack crosses the acceptance threshold and normal charging begins. Confirm the pack is charging by checking that the charger light shifts from green to red within that window.

My Prophete cuts out every time I hit a steep hill — why does a new battery make no difference?

The motor draws a sharp current spike at the start of a climb, and the BMS in the new pack trips the same over-current protection the old one did. This is a load management issue, not a battery fault. Engage a lower assist level before the incline begins so the motor ramps up gradually rather than spiking. If the cut-out still triggers, check that the battery terminals are fully seated — a loose connection raises contact resistance and makes the voltage sag look worse to the BMS.

My Prophete barely gets me anywhere on a cold morning — is the battery faulty?

No — Li-ion cells lose 15–25% of usable capacity below 5°C because colder electrolyte slows ion transfer and raises internal resistance. The pack is working correctly; it simply has less available energy at low temperature. Store the battery indoors overnight and fit it to the bike just before you leave. Capacity returns to normal once the cells warm up during the first few kilometres of riding.

The charger light went straight to green after I fitted a new pack, but the display shows low charge — what's wrong?

Self-discharge during shipping can drop cell voltage below the charger's acceptance threshold, causing it to skip the charge cycle entirely and report a false full. Connect the charger and leave it undisturbed for 30 minutes — the pre-charge trickle circuit will push cells back above 20V and trigger normal CC/CV charging. The charger indicator should switch from green to red within that window to confirm charging has started.
