Fits DOTLUX EXITflat emergency lighting fixture, replaces OEM part numbers 5411 and 5405.
3.2V 1800mAh LiFePO4 cell delivers 5.76Wh capacity for full-duration emergency evacuation backup power.
Connector slides into the cylindrical battery slot with flat contact pins; locking tab secures axially.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted full charge at 3.65V float with zero cutoff events during discharge cycle.
After installation, run a manual test cycle within 24 hours by pressing the test button for the full rated duration — this confirms load acceptance and lets the charge controller register the new cell capacity before your next compliance audit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DOTLUX EXITflat / EXITmulti Series — 3.2V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (5411, 5405)

This is a 3.2V 1800mAh LiFePO4 cell for the DOTLUX EXITflat and EXITmulti emergency exit light fittings. It replaces OEM part numbers 5411 and 5405, and also fits model references 5406 and 3177-160120. When mains power fails, this cell drives the LED panel to keep the exit sign illuminated for evacuation.

  • EXITflat and EXITmulti platform fit: Both the EXITflat and EXITmulti share the same 3.2V single-cell LiFePO4 architecture, charge controller float voltage, and JST-style connector footprint — which is why one cell covers the full model range listed above.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and a load-discharge run on the EXITflat fitting. The onboard charge controller accepted the cell without fault, and the BMS held steady through the discharge curve without triggering a low-voltage cutoff prematurely.
  • First test cycle after installation: Within 24 hours of fitting this cell, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This lets the charge controller register the new cell's capacity window before your next scheduled compliance inspection — skipping this step can result in a failed duration test even with a healthy cell.

Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement

A freshly installed LiFePO4 cell arrives in storage-state, typically sitting between 3.0V and 3.1V — below the charge controller's float acceptance threshold on some DOTLUX fittings. The controller may pass a trickle charge rather than a full charge cycle, meaning the cell never reaches rated capacity before the test is triggered. Allow the fitting at least 24 hours on mains power before running any duration test. If the cell still falls short, check terminal voltage at the connector — it should read 3.2V fully charged.

Charge indicator staying red after new cell installation

Some DOTLUX EXITflat fittings latch a fault state in the charge controller firmware when the old cell drops below a hard low-voltage floor — usually around 2.5V. Swapping the cell alone does not clear this latched fault. On most units, holding the test button for three seconds with the new cell connected and mains power live will reset the controller and allow the indicator to cycle to green. If the red LED persists after the reset, confirm the cell connector polarity is seated correctly before assuming a controller fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

The exit light came on during a mains failure test but started dimming after a couple of minutes — is the new battery faulty?

Most likely not faulty — just under-charged on first activation. A LiFePO4 cell fresh from storage holds less usable charge than a cell that has completed a full conditioning cycle on the fitting. The charge controller needs at least 24 hours on mains power to bring the cell to its full 3.2V float before it can deliver rated capacity under load. Leave the fitting powered for a full day, then repeat the test.

The fitting's fault LED is still on even though the new battery is correctly installed and the connector is seated — what's causing it?

The charge controller on several DOTLUX EXITflat and EXITmulti units latches a fault flag when the old cell degrades past a low-voltage threshold, and a cell swap alone does not clear it. With mains power live and the new cell connected, hold the test button for approximately three seconds to trigger a controller reset. The indicator should cycle from red to green within 30 seconds of releasing the button.

The old battery looks swollen — can this fitting safely run on a replacement straight away?

A swollen LiFePO4 cell in an EXITflat fitting almost always indicates years of continuous trickle charge at elevated internal temperature inside the enclosure. Before fitting the replacement, check that the enclosure vents are clear and that the fitting is not mounted directly above a heat source — sustained temperatures above 45°C accelerate cell degradation regardless of chemistry. Fit the new cell, restore mains power, and verify the charge indicator reaches green within two hours. If the fitting runs warm to the touch after 24 hours, the charge controller should be inspected before the next compliance test.
