Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ledlenser SEO Headlamp 7784 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (620655B)

This 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Ledlenser SEO Headlamp 7784. It matches OEM part numbers 620655B, BD1800, and HLB1300. If your headlamp is dimming early or failing to hold a charge, this is the direct cell swap.

  • SEO 7784 fitment: The SEO 7784 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack with a fixed 3.7V nominal rail. The driver circuit is tuned to this voltage window — substituting a cell outside the 3.2V–4.2V operating range causes the driver to step down output before the battery is actually depleted.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the SEO 7784's charge and discharge cycle on the bench. The BMS held cutoff correctly at 4.2V on charge and tripped low-voltage protection at 2.75V — consistent with Ledlenser's factory spec for this model.
  • Single-cell storage tip: If you store the SEO 7784 for weeks without use, the driver circuit draws a small standby current that slowly depletes the cell. Before long storage, charge to roughly 50–60% and remove the battery from the headlamp to prevent deep discharge damage to the cell.

Why the SEO 7784 dims before the battery indicator shows low

The SEO 7784's driver uses brownout protection — it steps down output current when cell voltage drops below a threshold, typically around 3.4–3.5V under load. This happens before the battery indicator registers as low, because the indicator reads open-circuit voltage, not loaded voltage. A worn or weak cell has higher internal resistance, so voltage sags further under load than it does at rest. Replacing the cell restores the full voltage headroom and stops early dimming.

Headlamp flickering or cycling through modes near end of charge

When cell capacity has degraded significantly, loaded voltage can drop sharply and then recover within milliseconds — the driver interprets this as a brownout event and resets, which reads to the user as a flicker or an unwanted mode change. This is not a driver fault; it is the cell failing to sustain voltage under even moderate current draw. Switching to the lowest output mode confirms whether the cell is the cause — if flicker stops on low mode, the cell cannot sustain higher current draw. Replace the cell and check that the replacement charges to 4.2V before first use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ledlenser SEO 7784 dims to almost nothing even though the battery indicator still shows charge — why?

The battery indicator on the SEO 7784 reads resting voltage, not loaded voltage. A degraded cell has high internal resistance, so voltage collapses under the driver's current draw even when it looks fine at rest. The driver steps output down to protect itself — that's the dimming you see. Replace the cell and confirm the new battery charges fully to 4.2V before use.

The SEO 7784 randomly cycles through modes or flickers when the battery is nearly flat — is the driver broken?

The driver is not broken. When the cell can no longer hold voltage steady under load, it drops and recovers in milliseconds — the driver resets each time and the user sees it as a mode change or flicker. Switch to the lowest brightness mode: if the flickering stops, the cell is the cause, not the driver. Fit the replacement cell and the driver will behave normally again.

My new replacement cell isn't lasting as long as expected in turbo mode — is the capacity wrong?

Turbo mode draws significantly more current than standard or low modes — often five to ten times more. Higher current draw causes greater voltage sag inside the cell, which triggers the driver's brownout protection sooner, cutting output before the cell is fully depleted. This is normal behaviour at high current, not a capacity fault. Switch to standard mode for sustained use and reserve turbo for short bursts only.
