Fits Nightstick XPP-5570 and XPR-5572 flashlights; replaces OEM part 5572-BATT.
3.7V Li-ion at 3400mAh delivers full output current to the flashlight driver without stepdown.
Cylindrical cell slides into the tube housing; no connector — direct contact with spring terminals.
Bench test showed clean voltage ramp on first charge cycle; BMS accepted full 3.7V without fault.
On turbo mode, swap to standard mode before the light dims — turbo draws peak current and triggers driver brownout faster than standard output.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nightstick XPP-5570 / XPR-5572 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (5572-BATT)

This is a 3.7V, 3400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Nightstick XPP-5570 and XPR-5572 rechargeable flashlights. It uses OEM part number 5572-BATT and slots directly into the battery compartment on both models. Capacity is rated at 12.58Wh — matching the original cell specification.

  • XPP-5570 and XPR-5572 compatibility: Both lights share the same battery format, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The XPR-5572 adds a charging contact plate on the tail, but the cell itself is identical — same 3.7V nominal, same physical dimensions at 116.00 x 47.65 x 26.20mm.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the XPP-5570 driver board. The BMS accepted charge from the OEM cradle without error flags, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the expected low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Turbo mode draw management: The XPP-5570 driver pulls significantly higher current in turbo mode than in standard or low. Avoid leaving the light in turbo mode on a nearly discharged cell — the driver will step down output abruptly as the cell voltage sags under load, which some users mistake for a faulty battery.

Why the XPP-5570 dims suddenly before the indicator reads low

The XPP-5570 driver uses brownout protection that steps output down when cell voltage drops under load — not when the indicator crosses a threshold. In turbo mode, current draw is high enough that a partially discharged cell can sag below the driver's cutoff voltage mid-use, triggering a step-down even while the gauge still shows charge remaining. This is normal driver behaviour, not a cell failure. Switching to standard mode at that point lets the driver operate within the cell's deliverable current range.

Battery draining significantly faster than expected in turbo mode

Turbo mode on the XPP-5570 draws five to ten times more current than standard mode, so the cell depletes at a proportionally faster rate — this is not a defect. If the discharge rate seems excessive even in standard mode, check whether the cell has been repeatedly drained close to zero: Li-ion cells lose capacity when cycled to very low voltages. A healthy replacement cell should hold above 3.0V under standard-mode load; if it sags below that quickly, check the charger is delivering a full 4.2V termination voltage before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My XPP-5570 is cycling through brightness modes on its own near the end of a charge — is the battery failing?

That cycling is the driver brownout-protecting itself as cell voltage fluctuates under load at low charge. The cell is not necessarily faulty — it means voltage has dropped to the point where the driver can no longer hold a stable output level. Switch to a lower mode immediately to stabilise the draw. If it happens well before the cell should be depleted, charge the battery fully to 4.2V and retest before assuming the cell is at fault.

The XPP-5570 ran noticeably shorter in turbo mode straight out of the box — did I get a faulty cell?

Turbo mode draws five to ten times more current than standard mode, so a proportionally shorter run is expected behaviour, not a defect. A 3400mAh cell at standard draw lasts substantially longer than the same cell pushed at peak turbo current. Confirm the cell charged fully — the charger should terminate at 4.2V. If runtime in standard mode is also short, let the cell complete two full charge cycles before drawing conclusions.

One charge cycle used to last my XPR-5572 much longer — why has capacity dropped so quickly?

Li-ion cells degrade faster when regularly discharged to very low voltages or stored fully depleted for weeks at a time. The XPR-5572's charging circuit does not prevent the cell from sitting at near-zero if left unused after discharge. To slow capacity fade, store the cell at a partial charge — around 3.6–3.8V — if the light will not be used for an extended period. If the cell now drops below 3.0V under standard-mode load, it has degraded beyond recoverable capacity and needs replacement.
