Fits Blaupunkt TravelPilot 500 and TravelPilot 700; replaces OEM part 523450L110.
3.7V 2200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity for continuous navigation and map display without mid-route shutdown.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab aligns with the device housing catch.
We bench-tested this cell in the TravelPilot platform—BMS accepted full charge within spec, no fault codes, discharge curve stable across load cycles.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before active navigation—cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Blaupunkt TravelPilot 500 / 700 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (523450L110)

This 3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Blaupunkt TravelPilot 500 and TravelPilot 700 portable GPS navigators. It matches the OEM dimensions at 52.78 × 34.23 × 10.95mm and uses OEM part references 523450L110 and 1S2PMX. Capacity is rated at 8.14Wh — identical to the factory spec.

  • TravelPilot 500 and 700 fitment: Both units share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and single-cell 3.7V architecture. The BMS handshake is identical across both models, so one cell covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a TravelPilot unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, balanced correctly at full charge, and held voltage within the expected window across a standard navigation session.
  • First fix after installation: After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors before use. The unit performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first satellite acquisition can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once the almanac is cached.

GPS battery draining faster during active navigation than standby

The TravelPilot draws significantly more current during active routing than when idle. The GPS receiver runs continuously, the processor recalculates turn-by-turn data, and the display stays at full brightness — all three loads run simultaneously. On a fresh cell this is normal behaviour, not a fault. Reducing display brightness is the single most effective way to lower draw during long drives.

TravelPilot 500 shutting off without warning at low battery

This happens when the battery indicator loses calibration after a cell swap. The fuel gauge reads remaining charge as a percentage based on learned discharge curves from the old cell — after replacement, those curves no longer match. The device hits the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the on-screen warning triggers. Run two full charge-to-discharge cycles to let the gauge recalibrate against the new cell; the warning should align to cutoff at or above 3.4V after that.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TravelPilot lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The TravelPilot stores some user data, including saved destinations and recent routes, in battery-backed RAM. When the original cell is removed and power drops to zero, that RAM loses its contents. Favourites stored to internal flash are usually retained, but anything held only in volatile memory is gone. After fitting the new cell, re-enter critical destinations and save them explicitly to the device's favourites list to prevent the same loss next time.

The TravelPilot took nearly 10 minutes to get a satellite fix after the battery swap — something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's almanac — the stored data it uses to predict satellite positions. Without that data, the unit runs a cold start and has to download a fresh almanac from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once the almanac is rebuilt and saved, warm starts on subsequent power-ups take under a minute. Keep the unit stationary outdoors during that first fix.

GPS accuracy seems off at the low-battery warning stage — is the receiver cutting corners?

Some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity or polling rate when voltage drops toward the cutoff threshold, as a power-saving measure to extend the remaining charge. On the TravelPilot this can show up as position drift or slower map updates in the final stretch of battery life. The fix is straightforward — plug into the vehicle charger before the warning appears, or charge fully before a long trip. Accuracy returns to normal as soon as voltage stabilises above 3.6V.
