Fits Garmin iQue M3 and iQue M4 GPS navigators; replaces OEM part number 361-00019-01.
3.7V Li-Polymer chemistry delivers 1250mAh capacity; this voltage maintains stable operation across the iQue's navigation and PDA functions without triggering false low-battery warnings.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed — the pack seats flush and locks with firm pressure until the tab clicks.
We bench-tested this cell in an iQue M3 across cold-start and warm-start satellite acquisition; the BMS stabilized at 3.7V nominal with clean voltage ramp on initial power-on.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin iQue M3 / M4 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (361-00019-01)

This is a 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Garmin iQue M3 and iQue M4 portable GPS navigators. It replaces OEM part numbers 361-00019-01 and D25292-0000. The iQue M3 and M4 are handheld GPS and PDA units — this battery powers both navigation and personal information manager functions.

  • iQue M3 and M4 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V voltage rail. The BMS handshake is identical across the M3 and M4 hardware revisions, so one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on an iQue M3 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes. Capacity held within spec across discharge cycles at both navigation-active and standby draw rates.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitment: After installing this battery, power the unit on outdoors before your first use. The GPS performs a cold start following any full power interruption — first satellite fix can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts will lock in under a minute once the almanac data is refreshed.

GPS accuracy dropping as battery charge falls

The iQue M3 reduces GPS receiver sensitivity at low cell voltage to protect the remaining charge. This means position accuracy can degrade noticeably before the low-battery warning appears on screen. The receiver draws more current during active satellite tracking than in standby, so voltage sag under that load triggers the sensitivity reduction earlier than users expect. Keep the cell above 3.5V during active navigation to maintain full receiver performance.

Device shuts off without warning before the battery indicator hits zero

This happens because the fuel gauge is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A degraded or newly fitted battery may have a different curve, so the device hits its voltage cutoff threshold before the on-screen indicator reaches empty. The fix is to run two or three full charge-discharge cycles — the firmware recalibrates the indicator against the actual cell behaviour. If shut-offs continue after three cycles, check that resting voltage reaches at least 4.15V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iQue M3 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is there a way to recover them?

Saved routes and waypoints on the iQue M3 are held in battery-backed RAM. When the cell is fully removed, that RAM loses power and the data clears. There is no recovery once the power is gone. Going forward, sync your routes to Garmin's desktop software before any battery swap so you can reload them immediately after fitting the new cell.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after the battery replacement — is something wrong with the new cell?

Nothing is wrong. A full power interruption wipes the GPS almanac data the receiver uses to find satellites quickly. The unit runs a cold start on first power-up, which means it has to download a fresh almanac from scratch — that takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once that first fix completes, subsequent lock-ons will be under a minute.

Active navigation drains this battery much faster than when I use the iQue M3 as a PDA — why?

The GPS receiver and backlit display together pull significantly more current than PDA-only tasks like calendar or contacts. The receiver is constantly tracking satellite signals, which is the single largest draw on this 1250mAh cell. Reducing screen brightness to 50% and disabling the backlight timeout override are the two quickest ways to extend active navigation use. If drain still seems excessive, check that the cell voltage reaches 4.15–4.20V at the end of a full charge.
