Fits Garmin GPS-6033 and GPS-6030 handheld navigators, replacing OEM part number 300-203712001.
Delivers 3.7V at 1000mAh capacity, supplying enough energy for extended navigation sessions on a single charge.
Uses a flat connector with single-tab locking mechanism; slides into the battery compartment with connector facing the device contacts.
Bench testing confirmed the BMS accepts charge immediately with no pre-conditioning cycle needed; voltage held stable across discharge cycles.
After installation, power the GPS fully on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power removal takes 5–10 minutes for first lock.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rikaline GPS-6033 / 6030 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (300-203712001)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell built to replace the original battery in the Rikaline GPS-6033 and GPS-6030 handheld GPS navigators. It matches the OEM part number 300-203712001 and fits the same physical bay. Dimensions are 57.50 × 35.51 × 7.45mm — measure your current cell before ordering if you are unsure.

  • GPS-6033 and GPS-6030 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pin-out, and 3.7V power rail, so one cell covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on GPS navigator hardware, confirmed the protection circuit trips at the correct low-voltage cutoff, and verified the connector seated flush with no voltage drop at the terminal.
  • Cold-start procedure after fitting: After installing this cell, take the GPS-6033 outdoors and power it on before your first use. The unit performs a full cold start after any complete power interruption — first satellite acquisition can take 5–10 minutes in open sky. Subsequent warm starts are under a minute once the almanac is cached.

GPS-6033 shutting off without warning at low battery

After extended use, the GPS-6033's battery indicator can read one bar and then cut power with no further warning. This happens because the on-screen indicator is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell — a replacement cell with a slightly different curve hits the device's voltage cutoff threshold before the indicator reaches empty. The fix is to run the battery through two or three full charge-discharge cycles so the device re-maps the indicator to the new cell's curve. Once calibrated, low-battery warnings appear at around 3.5V as expected.

Saved routes and POIs missing after battery swap

Some route data and points of interest on the GPS-6033 are held in battery-backed RAM rather than flash storage. A full power removal — as happens during a battery swap — clears that volatile memory. Before pulling the old battery, export any saved routes to your PC via the Rikaline software utility. After fitting this cell and powering back on, re-import the exported data to restore your waypoints.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GPS-6033 is taking forever to find satellites after I swapped the battery — is something wrong with the new cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. When the GPS-6033 loses power completely during a battery swap, it discards its cached satellite almanac and has to rebuild it from scratch — this is a cold start. In open sky with a clear view overhead, first fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent power cycles warm-start in under a minute once the almanac is stored again.

The GPS-6033 is draining the replacement battery noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating compared to just carrying it in standby — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously and keeps the backlit display on, which pulls significantly more current than standby. The GPS-6033 receiver alone accounts for most of the draw; add full display brightness and consumption roughly doubles compared to a dimmed or sleeping screen. Drop display brightness to the lowest usable level and enable the auto-sleep setting to reduce draw during active use.

My GPS-6033 seems to give less accurate position readings when the battery is low — does battery level actually affect GPS accuracy?

Yes, on some portable GPS units the receiver scales back sensitivity at low voltage to protect the remaining charge. Lower receiver sensitivity means weaker satellite signals get dropped, reducing the number of satellites in the fix and widening the position error. Keep the cell above 3.6V for a full-sensitivity fix, and recharge before heading out on any route where precision matters.
