Fits TomTom Pro 8000 GPS navigator; replaces OEM part number SIMPLOM420102829.
3.7V and 1250mAh capacity delivers 4.63Wh to power the display and processor through full navigation sessions.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the housing.
We bench-tested the cell in the Pro 8000 cradle; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before use — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5-10 minutes for first fix versus under a minute for subsequent warm starts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TomTom Pro 8000 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (SIMPLOM420102829)

This 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the TomTom Pro 8000 GPS navigator. The Pro 8000 is a commercial-grade portable navigator used in fleet and logistics operations. When the original cell degrades, this replacement restores the device to working order without a full unit replacement.

  • TomTom Pro 8000 fitment: This cell matches the voltage rail, physical dimensions (62 × 37 × 5mm), and connector orientation of the Pro 8000 mainboard. The BMS in these navigators communicates charge state to the display — this cell's protection circuit responds correctly to that handshake.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge cycles and monitored BMS cutoff behaviour under simulated GPS receiver and display loads. The protection circuit held stable across charge thresholds without false trips.
  • First-fix cold start after installation: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors before driving. The Pro 8000 performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first satellite acquisition can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts resolve in under a minute once the almanac is cached.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the Pro 8000

The Pro 8000 reduces RF receiver sensitivity when battery voltage falls below a threshold — this cuts power draw but degrades position accuracy. You may notice the route line drifting or the device losing lock in areas that normally work fine. This is not a software fault. Keeping the cell charged above 3.5V prevents the receiver from entering low-power sensitivity mode.

Pro 8000 shutting off without a low-battery warning

After fitting a new cell, the fuel gauge IC needs a full charge-discharge cycle to recalibrate its voltage-to-percentage mapping. Until that cycle completes, the device can hit its actual cutoff voltage before the on-screen indicator shows a warning. Charge the unit to 100%, use it on active navigation until it shuts off naturally, then charge again fully — one cycle is enough to recalibrate the threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pro 8000 lost all my saved routes and POIs after I replaced the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Pro 8000 holds some route and favourites data in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal clears it. Any routes stored on the internal flash should survive, but anything held only in volatile memory is gone. Reconnect the device to TomTom MyDrive before swapping the battery next time to back up your POI lists and routes to the cloud first.

Satellite lock is taking over 5 minutes on my Pro 8000 after the battery swap — something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing power clears the almanac cache the GPS receiver uses for fast lock, forcing a cold start. Cold starts on the Pro 8000 typically take 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Leave the device stationary outside until it confirms a fix — subsequent power cycles will lock in under a minute once the almanac rebuilds.

The Pro 8000 battery drains much faster when I'm actively navigating than when the device is just sitting idle — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the display simultaneously, which is the highest combined load this device sees. The receiver alone draws significantly more current acquiring and tracking satellites than in standby. Reducing screen brightness to around 50% is the single most effective step — the display is the larger variable in that combined draw, and the GPS receiver load stays constant regardless.
