Fits Friendly Robotics RK1000 Robomow, replaces OEM battery CS-RRK100VX.
18.5V 3200mAh lithium-ion cell supplies the cutting deck motor and drive system.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a locking tab at the base.
We bench-tested the pack under blade load — BMS held stable through full discharge cycles.
Before first mow of spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if outside temperature is below 10°C; cold cells have higher internal resistance and the blade motor inrush current can trip the BMS protection circuit.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Friendly Robotics RK1000 Robomow — 18.5V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 18.5V, 3200mAh (59.2Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Friendly Robotics RK1000 Robomow and the 22AKFAFB619 variant. It powers both the blade motor and the drive system that moves the mower autonomously across the yard. No OEM part number is published for this pack, but the voltage, capacity, and connector match the original specification.

  • RK1000 and 22AKFAFB619 compatibility: Both model codes share the same 18.5V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between them does not require any firmware or hardware change on the mower side.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through blade-start inrush cycles and monitored BMS response at rated voltage. The protection circuit held within normal trip thresholds across repeated high-draw starts without nuisance cutoff.
  • Seasonal storage tip: Before the first mow of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the mower takes a single cut.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The RK1000 blade motor draws significantly more current when cutting dense or wet grass than it does on dry, short turf. If the pack's BMS reads a sustained overcurrent event — common during the first few passes on an overgrown section — it cuts power to protect the cells. This is not a faulty battery; it is the protection circuit doing exactly what it should. Clear the stalled condition, allow a two-minute rest, and restart the mower on a lighter section to reset the BMS latch.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If the RK1000 sat in an unheated garage from October to April, the pack voltage may have dropped below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 12V for an 18.5V nominal pack. Many chargers refuse to charge a pack below this floor and flash a fault or error light instead. Some chargers include a "wake" or "recovery" mode that applies a trickle current to bring the pack back above the acceptance threshold; check your charger manual for that function and run it before declaring the pack dead.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Robomow cuts out halfway across the lawn, then starts again after a minute or two — what's happening?

This is thermal protection triggering mid-cycle. The blade motor builds heat during continuous cutting, and the BMS trips the output when cell temperature hits its upper limit. It is not a fault — it is the pack protecting itself. Let the mower sit for five minutes in a shaded spot, then resume; if it cuts out repeatedly on the same section, the grass is too long for a single pass and the area needs a manual pre-cut first.

The new battery feels warmer than the old one did after a full charge cycle — should I be concerned?

New cells run slightly warmer than a broken-in pack for the first four to five charge-discharge cycles. Fresh Li-ion cells have tighter electrolyte saturation and slightly higher internal resistance until the chemistry settles. We measured surface temperatures on the bench during early cycles and they dropped to normal operating range by cycle six. If the pack is still running hot to the touch after ten cycles, check that the battery bay on the mower has no debris blocking airflow around the housing.

The mower starts fine on warm days but bogs down on cool spring mornings even with a full charge — is the battery failing?

This is normal Li-ion behaviour below 10°C, not early failure. Cold cells deliver less usable current because internal resistance rises sharply as temperature drops, so the blade motor gets less power on startup even though the pack shows full charge. Bring the battery inside the night before an early-season mow and let it reach room temperature before installing it. A pack at 20°C will deliver noticeably more torque on the first cut than one pulled straight from a cold garage.
