Fits Lizard M4, M440, M480, M485 lawn mowers; replaces OEM part 110Z03700A.
25.9V at 10200mAh delivers sustained cutting power through thick grass and wet conditions without early cutoff.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We ran three full discharge cycles on the M4 deck; BMS held steady under blade load and showed clean voltage profile.
Before first use each spring, bring the pack indoors overnight if outdoor temps are below 10°C — cold cells have higher internal resistance and blade motor inrush can trip the BMS cutoff on a chilled pack.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lizard M4 / M440 / M480 Series — 25.9V Li-ion Replacement Battery (110Z03700A)

This is a 25.9V, 10200mAh Li-ion battery that replaces the original 110Z03700A pack used in Lizard cordless lawn mowers. It fits the M4, M440, M480, and M485 platforms, along with five additional models in the same series. The voltage rail and connector match the OEM spec exactly.

  • M4 / M440 / M480 / M485 platform fit: These models share the same 25.9V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — so one cell pack covers the full range without adapters or firmware workarounds.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through sustained blade-motor load draws and confirmed the BMS holds stable through repeated high-inrush start events without nuisance tripping under normal cutting conditions.
  • Seasonal storage tip: If the mower has sat unused for more than three months, charge the pack to 100% before the first cut — a partially depleted cell left in a cold garage can drop below the BMS acceptance threshold, which the charger will flag as a fault rather than a dead cell.

BMS cutoff during thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The blade motor on the M4 series draws a sharp inrush current every time it bites into dense or wet grass — sometimes two to three times the steady-state draw. If the pack voltage sags too fast during that spike, the BMS reads it as an overcurrent event and shuts the output down. This is a protection trigger, not a cell failure. Letting the mower slow down slightly before hitting a dense patch keeps the inrush within the BMS window and stops nuisance cutoffs.

Charger showing a fault light after the mower sat all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly during storage — a pack left in a cold garage from October to April can fall below 20V, which is under the 21V floor most Lizard chargers use to begin a charge cycle. The charger sees that voltage and refuses to engage, flagging it as a fault. This is a voltage-floor protection, not a sign the pack is dead. To recover a deeply discharged pack, some users have had success with a brief boost charge from a bench power supply set to 25.2V at 0.5A until the pack rises above 21V, at which point the standard charger will take over normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lizard M4 cuts out halfway through a row and then starts again after a minute — what's causing that?

That's the thermal protection circuit cutting the output when the motor and cells hit a temperature threshold. It typically happens on long continuous cuts in warm weather or after several consecutive high-load passes. The pack needs around five minutes of rest to bring cell temperature back below the cutoff point. Let it sit off the mower in the shade, then resume — the BMS will re-engage once internal temp drops below roughly 45°C.

The pack gets noticeably warm after the first few charges — is that normal?

Yes, for the first four to five cycles new Li-ion cells generate slightly more heat as the electrolyte settles and internal resistance stabilises. We measured surface temperatures on this pack during conditioning cycles and they stayed within safe limits. After five full charge-discharge cycles, heat output drops to normal operating levels. If the pack is still running hot after cycle six, check that the battery compartment vents on the mower deck are clear of grass clippings.

The mower performs fine in summer but feels noticeably underpowered on the first cold morning of spring — is the battery failing?

It's not failing — it's physics. Below 10°C, Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, which limits how fast they can deliver current to the blade motor. The mower will feel sluggish and may cut out sooner than expected. Bring the battery indoors overnight before the first cold-weather cut. A pack that starts at room temperature will show noticeably better output than one pulled straight from a 5°C garage, because cell resistance drops as temperature rises toward 20°C.
