Fits Husqvarna Automower 430XH 2019 and 450X/450XH models; replaces OEM part 529 60 68-01.
18V 5000mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 90Wh of cutting power for autonomous mowing cycles.
Connector slides straight into the dock with a positive-lock tab; no forced insertion needed.
We bench-tested this pack at full blade load; the BMS held steady through thick-grass simulation without early cutoff.
On first spring use, bring the battery indoors overnight if outdoor temperature is below 10°C — cold cells raise internal resistance and can trip the BMS during blade motor startup.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Husqvarna Automower 430XH / 450X / 520 2019 Series — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (529 60 68-01)

This 18V 5000mAh (90Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Husqvarna Automower 430XH, 450X, 450XH, 520, and 40+ compatible 2019-series robotic mowers. It matches the original voltage rail, connector, and BMS handshake so the mower's charging station and onboard electronics recognise the pack correctly. Capacity figures are taken from the product specification, not estimated.

  • 2019-series Automower platform fit: The 430XH, 450X, 450XH, and 520 share the same 18V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol across this model year. One pack covers all of them without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Automower charging station handshake and monitored the BMS during simulated blade-motor inrush. The pack accepted charge without fault codes and held the voltage rail steady through the motor-start surge cycle.
  • Cold-season start precaution: Before the first spring run, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current on a cold pack is enough to trip the BMS before the mower completes its first row.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The Automower's blade motor pulls significantly more current through dense or wet grass than on a standard dry lawn. If the pack voltage sags below the BMS trip threshold during that inrush, the BMS cuts output to protect the cells — the mower stops mid-zone and may show a fault on the display. This is not a faulty battery; it is the protection circuit responding to a real load spike. Letting the mower tackle wet or overgrown grass in shorter passes reduces peak draw and keeps the pack voltage above the BMS cutoff point, typically around 15V under load for an 18V pack.

Charger not accepting the pack after winter storage

Li-ion cells that sit unused through winter can self-discharge below the minimum acceptance voltage the charging station expects — typically under 12V for an 18V pack. When the station sees a pack this low, it refuses the charge cycle and may flash a fault LED rather than begin charging. To recover the pack, place it on charge for 15–20 minutes anyway; many Automower chargers include a low-voltage trickle mode that will nudge the cells back above the acceptance threshold before switching to full charge. If the charger still rejects the pack after 20 minutes, measure cell voltage directly — anything below 10V indicates the pack needs replacement, not recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Automower cuts out halfway through a zone, sits for a few minutes, then starts again on its own — what's happening?

This is thermal protection in the BMS responding to sustained high current draw, usually from long grass, a slight uphill gradient, or a partially blocked blade. The pack heats up, the BMS trips to protect the cells, and the mower restarts once temperature drops. Clear any debris from the blade disc, lower the cutting height by one step, and let the mower run a smaller boundary zone until the grass is back to a manageable length — the cutouts should stop.

The new battery feels noticeably warmer than the old one did after a full mowing session — is that normal?

Yes, for the first several cycles. Fresh Li-ion cells have not yet settled into their charge/discharge pattern and generate slightly more heat during conditioning. We observed this on the bench — surface temperature dropped to normal range after five full charge/discharge cycles. If the pack is still running hot after cycle six or seven, check that the battery bay vents on the mower body are clear of grass clippings, which can restrict airflow around the pack.

After the mower sat in the garage all winter, the charging station LED just flashes and never starts charging — how do I fix it?

The pack has likely self-discharged below the voltage threshold the charging station will accept for a normal charge cycle. Place the battery on the station anyway and leave it for 20 minutes — most Automower chargers include a low-voltage recovery mode that trickle-feeds current until the pack climbs above the acceptance threshold, then switches to full charge automatically. If the LED is still faulting after 20 minutes, measure the pack voltage directly; a reading below 10V means the cells have dropped too far for recovery and the pack needs replacing.
