Fits Tech Line D7, BZ3, DZ2, and DZ3 cordless mowers with 25.2V motor systems.
25.2V and 2300mAh capacity delivers sustained power for residential lawn cutting tasks.
Battery slides into the vertical slot on the mower handle; connector seats flush without twisting.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the D7 frame — BMS held steady under normal blade load and cut-out only at full voltage sag.
If the mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after a few seconds, stop and let the battery cool for five minutes; the thermal protection is working as designed.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tech Line D7 / BZ3 / DZ2 / DZ3 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 25.2V 2300mAh (57.96Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Tech Line D7, BZ3, DZ2, and DZ3 cordless lawn mowers. It replaces the original pack when the cell capacity has dropped too far to complete a full mow. Slide it into the battery bay, lock it down, and you're back cutting.

  • D7, BZ3, DZ2, DZ3 compatibility: These four models share the same 25.2V battery rail, connector pin-out, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack fits all four without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through blade-start inrush events on a D7 deck. The BMS held steady across repeated motor starts and recovered cleanly after a simulated heavy-grass load trip.
  • First-season startup tip: Before the first spring mow, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the motor even reaches full speed.

BMS cutoff during thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The D7's blade motor pulls significantly more current through dense or wet grass than on a dry, short lawn. If the instantaneous current draw exceeds the BMS protection threshold, the pack shuts down to protect the cells. This is not a battery fault — it is the protection circuit doing its job. Let the pack rest for five minutes, then resume cutting at a slower walking pace to reduce motor load.

Charger refusing to accept the pack after winter storage

A battery left in the garage over winter can self-discharge below the charger's acceptance voltage — typically around 20V for a 25.2V pack. Most chargers will show a fault light and refuse to begin a charge cycle at this point. Some chargers include a recovery or "boost" mode that trickle-charges the pack back above the acceptance threshold before switching to normal charge. If your charger has no recovery mode, a compatible charger with a boost function will bring the cell voltage back to an acceptable level — aim to get it above 21V first.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Tech Line D7 cuts out halfway across a thick patch of grass, then starts again after a minute — is the battery faulty?

This is thermal protection activating, not a faulty cell. The blade motor pulls high current through dense grass and the BMS trips to prevent cell damage. The pack resets once it cools. Allow a five-minute rest, then continue at a slower pace to reduce motor load.

The charger shows a fault light and won't charge the battery after it sat unused all winter — what do I do?

After winter storage, the pack has likely self-discharged below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage of around 20V. Your charger is refusing to start a full charge cycle because the cell voltage is too low. Use a charger with a trickle or boost recovery mode to bring the voltage back above 21V first, then switch to normal charging.

My new battery feels noticeably warmer than the old one during the first few mows — is something wrong?

Warmth during the first several cycles is normal for a new pack. Fresh lithium-ion cells run slightly hotter while the electrolyte and electrode interfaces complete their initial conditioning. The temperature should stabilise after five full charge and discharge cycles. If the pack stays hot to the touch after cycle five, stop using it and inspect the battery bay for debris blocking airflow.
