Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Techniphone ISI 2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion battery for the Techniphone ISI 2 smartphone. It replaces the original cell when the phone no longer holds a charge, shuts down unexpectedly, or fails to power on. Capacity is rated at 4.44Wh and matches the original cell's dimensions at 53.20 × 34.00 × 5.70mm.

  • ISI 2 cell compatibility: The ISI 2 uses a fixed-voltage 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture. The connector pinout and physical footprint match the original cell exactly — no modification needed to fit the battery compartment or reconnect the flex tab.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the ISI 2 platform. The BMS accepted charge on the first connection, completed a full cycle without cutoff errors, and held voltage within expected range under screen and call load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On the first full cycle after fitting, disable fast charging if your charger supports it. This lets the ISI 2's fuel gauge IC measure the new cell's discharge curve accurately before high-current charging runs against an uncalibrated baseline — preventing false percentage readings early on.

Why the ISI 2 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The ISI 2 stores discharge curve data for the original cell inside the fuel gauge IC. When a new cell goes in, that stored data no longer matches the actual cell chemistry. The gauge reads voltage and applies the old curve, producing percentage figures that are off by 10–20%. One full discharge down to auto-shutoff, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, forces the IC to rewrite its reference data against the new cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the ISI 2

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under modem or display load — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge did not predict from its stored curve. The phone reads 25% but the cell is already below the BMS cutoff threshold under that load spike. It is not a faulty battery. Run one full calibration cycle first, and confirm the charger is delivering a stable 5V — fluctuating input voltage accelerates the apparent cliff effect.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ISI 2 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks the cell out when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during storage — a protection state, not permanent failure. Connect the phone to a known-good 5V USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS re-enables the discharge path. If the phone does not respond after 30 minutes of continuous charging, check the cable and adaptor before assuming the cell is at fault.

The ISI 2 percentage jumps from 60% straight to 15% and back again — what's causing that?

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell curve it has not yet mapped. The original calibration data stored on-device does not match the new cell's discharge profile, so the gauge loses confidence in its position on the curve and corrects abruptly. Run one complete cycle — discharge until the phone shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the gauge will rewrite its reference points against the new cell.

Fast charging isn't working on the ISI 2 after fitting the replacement battery — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle, some charge controllers default to standard current until the BMS has completed a handshake confirming cell state. This is normal behaviour on a new cell with no charge history. Complete one full standard charge-to-100% cycle first. If fast charging does not resume on the second cycle, confirm the charger and cable both support the required protocol — a slow charger will continue to deliver slow current regardless of the battery fitted.
