Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NUU A6L — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NUUA6L)
This 3.8V, 1900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the NUU A6L smartphone. It fits the A6L directly, restoring power to a phone that no longer holds a charge or fails to power on. Capacity and voltage match OEM spec — no modifications needed for installation.
- NUU A6L platform fit: The A6L uses a fixed-voltage 3.8V single-cell Li-ion architecture. This replacement matches that voltage rail and connector pinout, so the phone's charge IC and BMS handshake complete without fault codes or charge refusal.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the A6L platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the NUU A6L after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC doesn't expect, it misreads remaining capacity and triggers a low-voltage shutdown early. The phone cuts out even though the cell has charge left. One full discharge-charge cycle — draining to automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100% — gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate against the new cell.
NUU A6L won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage — the phone will show nothing on screen when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes without attempting to power on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell until voltage rises above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9–3.0V, before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
The NUU A6L keeps shutting off at around 25% battery — is the replacement cell defective?
This is almost always the fuel gauge IC reading from the old cell's discharge curve, not a fault in the new cell. The coulomb counter doesn't reset automatically on a cell swap, so it misjudges the voltage cliff on the new cell and triggers a premature shutdown. Run one full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the IC recalibrates and shutdowns at low percentages typically stop.
The NUU A6L battery percentage jumps around erratically after I installed the new cell — sometimes it gains 5% without charging.
Erratic percentage readings are the fuel gauge IC actively recalibrating against the new cell's impedance and discharge profile. The IC was tuned to the old cell over hundreds of cycles, so initial readings on a fresh cell will be inconsistent. This stabilises after one or two complete discharge-charge cycles as the coulomb counter builds an accurate model of the new cell. Do not top up or interrupt charging during those first two cycles — let each one run fully from shutdown to 100%.
Fast charging stopped working on the NUU A6L after I put in the replacement battery.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs default to standard current until they confirm the new cell's characteristics through one complete charge sequence. This is a safety behaviour, not a fault. Charge the phone fully at standard rate, let it discharge naturally, then charge again — fast charge typically re-engages on the second or third cycle once the charge IC has logged the new cell's response at full current. If fast charge still doesn't trigger after three cycles, check that the original fast-charge cable and adapter are in use, as the protocol negotiation happens at the adapter, not just the battery.
