Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits iRiver U10, U10CT, Clix 2GB, and Clix 4GB models; replaces OEM part number KPPJFGB6.
This 3.7V 720mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers 2.66Wh to power extended playback on compact media players.
Connector and locking tab match the original battery slot without modification or force required.
We tested the cell on a U10 unit; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with stable voltage output under sustained audio playback.
After installation, charge fully before first use — media players often enter deep discharge protection after extended storage that requires a slow trickle charge before normal current is accepted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

iRiver U10 / Clix Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (KPPJFGB6)

This 3.7V 720mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces part number KPPJFGB6 in the iRiver U10 portable media player. It fits the U10, U10CT, Clix 2GB, and Clix 4GB. At 40.80 × 29.23 × 3.80mm, it matches the original cell's footprint for a direct fit inside the chassis.

  • U10 and Clix platform fit: The U10 and Clix 2GB/4GB share the same battery bay dimensions and connector orientation, so one cell covers the full range. The flat Li-Polymer pouch format is specific to this chassis — a cylindrical cell will not fit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a U10 unit. The BMS handshake completed without error flags, and the device reported charge state correctly from the first cycle.
  • First charge after installation: Media players like the U10 often ship or sit in storage with the cell at near-zero voltage. Connect the device to its charger immediately after installing the new cell and leave it charging for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on — this clears the deep discharge protection state that blocks normal startup.

Battery percentage jumping after swapping the cell in a Clix or U10

After a cell swap, the U10's fuel gauge reads a voltage curve that no longer matches its stored calibration data from the old cell. This causes the percentage indicator to jump — sometimes showing 80% one moment and 40% the next. The gauge recalibrates by learning the new cell's discharge profile over one or two full cycles. Run the battery down until the device shuts off, then charge it fully to 4.2V and repeat once more.

Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty

The audio amplifier in the U10 draws a higher current spike during playback than the display or UI does at idle. At the tail end of a discharge curve, voltage sags under this load and drops below the amplifier's minimum operating threshold before the battery gauge reaches zero. The device cuts audio or shuts down, even though the voltage-threshold indicator still shows a charge remaining. A fresh cell with low internal resistance reduces this sag — if cutouts persist after installing a new cell, verify the battery contacts are clean and making full contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My iRiver U10 won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead too?

It is not dead — it is in deep discharge protection. When a Li-Polymer cell sits unused for an extended period, the voltage drops below the threshold the BMS needs to allow a normal startup. Plug the U10 into its charger and leave it connected for 30 minutes before pressing the power button. The trickle charge stage brings the cell back above the recovery threshold and normal charging resumes from there.

The battery percentage on my Clix 4GB jumps around randomly after I installed the replacement — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The U10 and Clix fuel gauge stores calibration data tied to the old cell's discharge curve, and the new cell does not match it yet. Run the battery down fully until the device powers off, then charge it uninterrupted to 4.2V. One or two complete cycles is usually enough for the gauge to recalibrate and report steady percentages.

My U10 cuts out mid-track but the battery still shows charge remaining — what is causing that?

The audio amplifier pulls a higher current burst during playback than the device needs at idle, and at the low end of a discharge curve that load causes a voltage sag below the amplifier's cutoff point. The battery gauge reads average voltage, not the sag under load, so it still shows partial charge when the device shuts down. A replacement cell with lower internal resistance reduces the sag — after installing one, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flat against the cell terminals.
