Fits Creative MuMo slim and Zen Xtra models; replaces OEM part BA20603R79900 and PF0450.
3.7V, 500mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 1.85Wh for full playback cycles on compact media players.
Connector seats flush into the device slot with locking tab engagement; orientation marked on housing.
Bench test showed clean voltage ramp on first charge cycle; BMS accepted load current without fault delay.
After installation, insert the battery fully and wait 30 minutes on charger before powering the device on—MuMo slim enters deep discharge protection after storage and needs sustained trickle current to exit that state.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Creative MuMo Slim / Zen Xtra — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BA20603R79900)

This 3.7V, 500mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Creative MuMo Slim and Zen Xtra portable media players. It matches OEM part numbers BA20603R79900 and PF0450. Capacity is sourced from product data — 500mAh (1.85Wh) — not estimated from third-party listings.

  • MuMo Slim and Zen Xtra compatibility: Both players share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and physical battery bay at 63.86 × 21.66 × 4.47mm. The BMS in each device communicates over the same voltage thresholds, so one cell fits both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a compatible player. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, held charge termination at 4.2V, and cut off discharge at the low-voltage threshold without locking the device into a protection state.
  • Post-install charge procedure for media players: If the player has sat unused for months, connect it to the charger before powering it on. A deeply discharged Li-Polymer cell may sit below the BMS wake threshold. Leaving it on charge for 20–30 minutes lets the trickle stage recover the cell voltage before normal charge current kicks in.

Battery percentage jumping after a cell swap in the MuMo Slim

The MuMo Slim's fuel gauge reads battery state by tracking voltage curves, not coulomb counting. After swapping a cell, the gauge has no charge history to reference. It maps the new cell's resting voltage to an approximate percentage, which can land anywhere from 20% to 80% regardless of actual charge level. Run two or three full charge and discharge cycles and the voltage-curve tracking recalibrates to the new cell.

Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty

The audio amplifier in the MuMo Slim draws a brief current spike when driving output — more than the steady-state draw the battery indicator measures. Near the end of discharge, the cell's internal resistance rises and that spike causes a voltage sag. The player's low-voltage protection interprets the sag as a dead cell and shuts down, even if the indicator shows charge remaining. This is a cell-condition issue, not a firmware bug — a fresh cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag. Charge the replacement fully before first use, confirmed at 4.2V on the cell terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Creative MuMo Slim won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for a year — is the new battery dead too?

The player is likely in deep-discharge protection, not dead. When a Li-Polymer cell drops below roughly 2.5V, the BMS blocks normal operation until the cell recovers. Connect the charger and leave it plugged in for 30 minutes before pressing the power button — this lets the trickle stage bring the cell back above the wake threshold before the device will boot.

The battery percentage on my MuMo Slim jumps from 60% straight to 10% within minutes of use — what's happening?

This is the fuel gauge recalibrating after a cell swap. The player estimates charge level from the cell's voltage curve, and with a new cell it has no discharge history to anchor that estimate. Run two or three complete charge cycles — charge to full, use until the player shuts off, then charge again — and the percentage reading will stabilise to match actual capacity.

My MuMo Slim plays fine for a while, then cuts out randomly even though the battery still shows charge — why?

The audio amplifier pulls a short current spike during playback that rises as the cell discharges. Late in the discharge cycle, internal cell resistance causes a voltage sag during that spike, and the low-voltage protection circuit reads it as a dead battery and shuts the player down. A fresh replacement cell has lower internal resistance and eliminates the sag. Charge the new cell fully — confirmed at 4.2V at the terminals — before the first playback session.
