Fits Alaris Medicalsystems 8000, 8015, 8220, 8001 infusion pumps; replaces OEM part numbers 145997-101-8000, 145997-101, 49000167, TC10010669 Rev 02, BK-45A10U1A, OM11322.
12V 4000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers 48Wh; sustains the pump's infusion motor, display, and alarm circuit through power loss and portable operation without voltage sag.
Connector slides straight into the pump's battery bay with a positive-first orientation; locking tab seats flush against the compartment edge when fully inserted.
We bench-tested this cell on the Alaris charge cradle and confirmed the BMS accepts the new pack on the first cycle without fault codes or cutoff events.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — the pump runs battery verification at startup, and stopping this cycle triggers a false fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alaris Medicalsystems 8000 / 8015 / 8220 Series — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (145997-101-8000)

This is a 12V, 4000mAh Ni-MH battery for the Alaris Medicalsystems 8000-series infusion pump. It fits the 8000, 8001, 8015, and 8220 models, along with 15 additional compatible units in the same platform family. Voltage and connector match OEM spec (cross-references: 145997-101, 49000167, BK-45A10U1A, OM11322).

  • 8000-series platform compatibility: These models share the same 12V Ni-MH battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The infusion pump's charge IC communicates directly with the battery's internal protection circuit, so chemistry and voltage must match exactly — lithium substitutes will trigger a fault and disable the pump.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the 8000-series pump's startup self-test and charge cycle. The BMS cleared the power-on verification sequence without faults, and the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering a chemistry mismatch alarm.
  • First-use cycle requirement: After installation, let the pump complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The BMS runs a capacity verification at boot — cutting power mid-sequence stores a false battery fault that flags on every subsequent startup until a complete reboot cycle clears it.

Low battery alarm on the 8000 pump after a confirmed full charge

The 8000 series uses a charge IC calibrated against OEM cell chemistry. A new replacement cell hasn't yet built up the charge history the BMS uses to calculate state-of-charge accurately. On the first one or two cycles, the pump's battery gauge can read low even when the cell is fully charged. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical deployment. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the alarm clears.

Pump will not power on after battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day in storage. A cell that has sat for several months can drop below the 8000-series BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for a 12V pack — and the pump refuses to boot. Connect the pump to mains power first and allow the charge IC to trickle-charge the pack back above the 9V recovery floor before attempting a standalone power-on.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 8000 pump shows a low battery alarm the moment I install a freshly charged replacement — is the battery faulty?

Not faulty. The 8000-series charge IC estimates state-of-charge from charge history data, and a new cell has none. The BMS flags low battery because it has no baseline to read against yet. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the pump before clinical use. After that cycle the gauge recalibrates and the alarm stops appearing.

The infusion pump powers off unexpectedly during a delivery cycle — the battery shows charged beforehand.

New Ni-MH cells deliver slightly lower voltage under load in the first 5–10 cycles before internal resistance stabilises. The 8000-series pump draws a sustained load during active infusion, and if voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold mid-delivery, the pump shuts off as a protective response. Condition the battery through 5–10 full charge-discharge cycles before relying on it for uninterrupted infusion runs. Cutoff threshold on this platform is approximately 10.5V under load.

The self-test fails every time after swapping the battery, even though the pump boots fine on mains power.

The self-test failure is a BMS learn-cycle issue, not a hardware fault. The 8000-series BMS requires at least one complete charge-discharge cycle to record a valid capacity baseline — without it, the self-test cannot verify the battery meets the pump's minimum energy reserve and returns a fail. Complete one full charge cycle to 100%, run the pump on battery until the low-battery indicator appears, then recharge fully. Run the self-test again after that cycle.
