Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nihon Kohden Edan SE-300A / SE-300B — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 14.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the internal power cell in the Edan SE-300A and SE-300B portable electrocardiograph. Both devices are 12-lead ECG machines used in clinical, ambulatory, and emergency settings. Voltage and capacity match OEM specifications for these two models.
- SE-300A and SE-300B compatibility: Both the SE-300A and SE-300B share the same 14.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single cell services either unit without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SE-300A platform. The BMS handshake completed on the first cycle, charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity, and the device reported battery status accurately in its diagnostics menu.
- Post-installation self-test: After fitting this battery, allow the SE-300A or SE-300B to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The BMS runs a verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Why the SE-300A reports low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The SE-300A's BMS uses stored charge-curve data calibrated to the original cell's chemistry profile. A new cell has not yet established a matching charge signature, so the BMS reads the state-of-charge conservatively and triggers a low-battery alert even when the cell is full. This behaviour typically clears after one complete charge-discharge cycle. Run a full charge to termination, then allow the device to run normally until the BMS initiates a protection cutoff, then recharge fully before clinical use.
Device fails to power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If voltage drops below approximately 10V, the SE-300A's BMS enters deep-discharge protection and blocks power output entirely — the device appears completely dead. Connect the charger and leave it for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 11.0V, at which point normal charging resumes and the device will boot.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SE-300A shows a low battery warning the moment I turn it on, but I just charged the new battery for two hours — what's wrong?
The SE-300A's BMS compares incoming charge data against a stored profile built from the original cell. A fresh replacement hasn't completed a full cycle, so the BMS underestimates its actual charge state and triggers the alarm early. This isn't a fault with the battery — it's a calibration gap. Run one complete charge-to-termination followed by a full discharge under normal device use, then recharge fully, and the alarm threshold recalibrates correctly.
The SE-300A won't complete its boot sequence after I swapped the battery — it gets partway through startup and then shuts off. What's happening?
The SE-300A draws a sharp current spike during its boot and self-test sequence. New Li-ion cells have slightly elevated internal resistance in the first several cycles, which causes a momentary voltage sag under that load — enough to trip the BMS undervoltage cutoff before the device finishes booting. Ensure the battery is fully charged before the first boot attempt. After three to five full charge cycles, internal resistance drops and the boot sequence completes without interruption.
The charge indicator on my SE-300A stops climbing around 85–90% and never reaches 100% on the first charge — is the new battery defective?
It's not defective. The SE-300A's charge IC applies a conservative current limit on a new cell it hasn't profiled yet, which slows the final constant-voltage phase significantly. The indicator may stall visually but the cell is still accepting charge. Leave it connected for a full charge session until the device signals charge complete — do not interrupt early. After the first full cycle, the charge IC adjusts its algorithm and subsequent charges will reach 100% at normal speed.
