Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Anritsu CMA-4500 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 10.8V 6600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the internal power cell in the Anritsu CMA-4500 cable and antenna analyzer. The CMA-4500 is a portable RF measurement instrument used for verifying cellular network infrastructure, transmission lines, and antenna systems in the field. Capacity figures come from the product data sheet, not estimated values.
- CMA-4500 platform fit: The CMA-4500 draws steady current during sweep measurements and spikes briefly during transmit tests. This cell matches the voltage rail and connector pinout the instrument expects. The BMS handshake follows the same charge termination profile as the factory cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the CMA-4500 charge IC and monitored BMS communication. The protection circuit responded correctly to the analyzer's charge termination signals, and cell voltage held within spec across the measurement load profile.
- First-use self-test on the CMA-4500: After fitting this battery, let the analyzer complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The CMA-4500 runs a BMS verification pass at startup. Cutting power during this sequence stores a false battery fault in firmware that will persist until the next clean boot cycle.
Why the CMA-4500 charge indicator stalls below 100% on the first charge
The CMA-4500 charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or recently stored cell. This is a deliberate threshold — the IC reduces charge rate until the cell's internal resistance reading drops within the expected range. On the first charge, this can make the indicator appear to stall at 90–95% for an extended period. The cell is still charging. Let it complete the full cycle without disconnecting power, and subsequent charges will follow the normal profile.
CMA-4500 showing low battery alarm immediately after a confirmed full charge
The CMA-4500 BMS compares the incoming cell's discharge curve against a stored OEM chemistry profile. A new cell that hasn't completed a full charge-discharge cycle yet produces a curve that sits outside the expected window, triggering a low battery warning even at full charge. This is not a fault with the cell — it is the BMS flagging an unrecognised profile. Run one complete charge-to-discharge-to-full-charge cycle, and the BMS will calibrate to the new cell. After that cycle, the alarm clears and the charge indicator reads accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions
The CMA-4500 won't power on after the new battery arrived — it sat in the box for a few weeks before I installed it. What's happening?
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and the CMA-4500 BMS has a minimum recovery threshold — typically around 9V for a 10.8V pack. If the cell voltage dropped below that threshold before installation, the BMS blocks power-on entirely as a protection measure. Connect the analyzer to AC power and leave it on charge for at least two hours before attempting to power on. If the charge LED activates, the BMS has accepted the cell and recovery is underway.
The CMA-4500 is cutting off mid-sweep during field measurements — it's not a low battery alarm, it just shuts down.
RF sweep measurements on the CMA-4500 create a sustained current draw that stresses a new cell harder than standby use. In the first 10 cycles, a fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag under load. If that sag crosses the BMS undervoltage cutoff threshold, the instrument shuts off without warning. This is not a fault — it resolves as the cell conditions over the first several charge cycles. Run two or three full charge-discharge cycles before relying on it for continuous field surveys.
The CMA-4500 self-test fails after I swapped the battery — it was passing fine before the swap.
The CMA-4500 self-test includes a BMS learn step that checks the cell's state-of-charge curve against its internal reference. A freshly installed cell that hasn't completed one full charge-discharge cycle will not yet have a calibrated curve, and the self-test flags this as a failure. Run one complete cycle — charge to full, discharge through normal analyzer use, then charge to full again — before running the self-test for results you can rely on. After that cycle, the BMS profile is established and the self-test passes cleanly.
