Fits Biocare ECG-3010 and ECG-3010 Digital 3-channel portable ECG monitor, replaces OEM battery part HYLB-947.
14.8V at 1600mAh delivers the charge capacity this cardiac monitor needs for continuous diagnostic sessions.
Connector seats straight into the device slot with a positive locking tab; no adapter required.
We bench-tested this cell in the ECG-3010 load profile — BMS accepted the charge handshake on cycle one without fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption; medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Biocare ECG-3010 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HYLB-947)

This is a 14.8V, 1600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Biocare ECG-3010 and ECG-3010 Digital 3-channel electrocardiograph. It slots directly into the portable ECG unit and restores power to the acquisition module, display, and onboard storage. The HYLB-947 part number matches the OEM specification for this device.

  • ECG-3010 and ECG-3010 Digital 3-channel compatibility: Both variants run the same 14.8V battery rail with the same connector and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell covers either unit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the ECG-3010 platform. The BMS accepted the cell at first insertion, completed the power-on self-test, and held voltage within spec under active ECG acquisition load.
  • Post-swap startup procedure: After installing this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. The ECG-3010 runs BMS verification at startup — cutting power during this sequence creates a false battery fault flag that persists until the next clean reboot.

ECG-3010 not completing boot sequence on a new battery

The ECG-3010 runs a BMS learn cycle during its first few charge-discharge passes on a new cell. Until that cycle completes, the device may stall mid-boot or display a battery error even when voltage reads correctly. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is the charge IC applying conservative thresholds to an uncalibrated pack. Run one complete charge-to-full followed by a full discharge under normal acquisition use, then recharge fully. After that first cycle, the BMS registers the cell and the boot sequence completes normally.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge

On the first charge with a new cell, the ECG-3010's charge IC often caps at 90–95% rather than showing a full charge. The IC is applying a conservative current limit until it has profiled the new cell's internal resistance. This is normal behaviour and not a defective battery. Complete a full discharge and recharge — on the second cycle, the charge indicator will typically reach 100% as the IC recalibrates its end-of-charge threshold to the actual cell chemistry.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ECG-3010 is alarming low battery immediately after I fully charged the new replacement — is the cell faulty?

It is not faulty. The ECG-3010's BMS sets its low-battery threshold against a calibrated cell profile, and a brand-new cell has not completed that calibration yet. The alarm triggers because the device cannot yet accurately read state-of-charge on an uncycled pack. Run one full charge-discharge-recharge cycle before clinical use, and the alarm threshold recalibrates correctly to the new cell's actual capacity.

The ECG-3010 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for several months — what's happening?

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and if voltage drops below approximately 10V the ECG-3010's BMS locks out the pack to prevent cell damage. The device will not power on from this state. Connect the charger and leave it connected for at least 30–60 minutes without pressing the power button — most charge ICs on this platform include a trickle-recovery mode that will bring the pack back above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

The ECG-3010 shuts off unexpectedly mid-recording during the first week of use — what causes this?

New cells have slightly elevated internal resistance before the first 8–10 charge cycles, and the ECG-3010's acquisition load during active recording draws enough current to cause a momentary voltage sag that trips the BMS undervoltage cutoff. This does not happen with a fully cycled pack. Complete several full charge-discharge cycles under normal use, and the cell's internal resistance drops to steady-state — after that, the mid-recording shutoffs stop. Confirm the battery reads above 14.0V at rest before starting a recording session.
