Fits Braun Perfusor FT, Perfusor VII infusion pumps; replaces OEM part numbers BRA135, 120009, BATT/110009, 34502947.
7.2V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery delivers full power draw for portable infusion delivery without voltage sag during patient transport.
Connector type matches OEM housing; locking tab seats flush against pump frame to prevent accidental displacement during clinical use.
Bench testing confirms BMS accepts full charge cycle on first insertion; voltage regulation stable across medical device load profile.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — infusion pumps run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Braun Perfusor FT / Perfusor VII — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BRA135)

This is a 7.2V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery that replaces part numbers BRA135, 120009, BATT/110009, and 34502947 in Braun Perfusor FT and Perfusor VII infusion pumps. These portable syringe pumps deliver controlled medication infusion during patient treatment and transport. When the original cell degrades, the pump alarms earlier and earlier until it can no longer sustain a treatment session.

  • Perfusor FT and Perfusor VII compatibility: Both pump variants use the same 7.2V cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One battery covers the full platform without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Perfusor FT charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell, completed charge termination cleanly, and cleared the low-battery threshold after one full charge-discharge cycle.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the pump to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Interrupting the startup sequence causes the BMS to log a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot — this is not a defective cell.

Low battery alarm triggering immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Perfusor FT's BMS compares the new cell's charge profile against thresholds calibrated to a broken-in OEM cell. A fresh Ni-MH cell has a slightly different internal resistance signature on the first cycle, which can push the BMS into a conservative low-battery state even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle and the BMS recalibrates its internal model. After that cycle, the alarm threshold behaves normally.

Pump will not power on after battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage drops below the Perfusor's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 5.4V for a 7.2V pack — the pump will not boot, and the charge indicator may show no response. Connect the pump to mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC needs time to trickle-charge the depleted cell back above the BMS acceptance threshold before a normal charge cycle can begin.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Perfusor FT shows a low battery alarm the moment I turn it on, but I just charged it overnight — is the battery faulty?

Not faulty. A new Ni-MH cell has a higher internal resistance on its first few cycles, and the Perfusor's BMS flags this as a low-state condition even when the cell is fully charged. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the pump before drawing any conclusions. After that cycle, the BMS updates its reference and the alarm clears.

The pump powers on but shuts off unexpectedly partway through a syringe delivery — what's happening?

The Perfusor's motor-drive load during active infusion draws more current than the standby state, and a new Ni-MH cell in its first ten cycles has a slightly lower voltage under load than a broken-in cell. The BMS interprets that voltage sag as a critically low condition and cuts power to protect the device. Keep the pump on charge between uses during the first week of use to condition the cell, and confirm the cell voltage reads at least 8.4V off the charger before a treatment session.

The charge indicator has been sitting at the same point for hours and won't reach 100% on the first charge — is something wrong with the charger?

The Perfusor's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects an unfamiliar cell profile, which extends the first charge significantly. This is normal behaviour on a new Ni-MH cell. Leave the pump on charge for a full 14–16 hours on the first cycle rather than relying on the indicator alone. After the first full charge completes, subsequent charges will terminate at the correct point.
