Fits Cardioline ECG ELAN 1100 electrocardiograph; replaces OEM part 110777.
12V, 2100mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 25.2Wh for full diagnostic sessions without mid-exam power loss.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot with a spring-loaded locking tab on the right side.
We bench-tested this cell on the ELAN 1100 charge circuit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cardioline ECG ELAN 1100 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (110777)

This is a 12V, 2100mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Cardioline ECG ELAN 1100 electrocardiograph. It fits the portable ECG unit used in clinical settings for cardiac monitoring and heart rhythm analysis. OEM part numbers 110777 and 43.888.1168 both cross-reference to this cell configuration.

  • ECG ELAN 1100 fit: The ELAN 1100 runs a 12V Ni-MH pack at this form factor — 116 × 45.6 × 50.8mm — with a BMS that handshakes on chemistry type. Swapping to a different chemistry triggers a persistent battery fault. This cell matches voltage, chemistry, and physical footprint exactly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge-discharge cycles on this cell against the ELAN 1100's charge IC. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion and completed its verification sequence without fault flags. Capacity delivery stabilised by cycle three.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the ELAN 1100 complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during this sequence leaves a false battery fault stored in the charge controller that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the ELAN 1100 flags a battery fault on a new Ni-MH cell

The ELAN 1100's charge IC uses a delta-V detection algorithm calibrated for a conditioned Ni-MH pack. A brand-new cell has a flatter charge curve in the first two cycles, which the controller can misread as a faulty or exhausted pack. This shows as a battery fault or low-battery indicator even after a confirmed full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge-charge cycle before treating any flag as a genuine fault. By cycle two, the delta-V profile normalises and the controller clears the flag automatically.

ELAN 1100 shutting off unexpectedly during a recording

The ECG acquisition circuit draws a concentrated load burst during active rhythm capture, which stresses a new cell harder than the standby current the device sits at between recordings. In the first ten cycles, the cell's internal resistance is slightly elevated, causing a brief voltage sag under that load burst. If the sag crosses the BMS undervoltage threshold — typically around 10.5V for a 12V Ni-MH pack — the device cuts out as a protection response. Charge the battery fully, complete at least one full discharge cycle through normal device use, and the sag will reduce as internal resistance drops with conditioning.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ELAN 1100 is showing a low battery alarm straight after a full charge on the new battery — is the cell faulty?

Almost certainly not. The ELAN 1100's charge controller uses delta-V detection to assess cell state, and a fresh Ni-MH cell has a flatter voltage curve for the first couple of cycles — the controller reads this as an abnormal charge profile and raises the alarm. Run one full charge-discharge-charge cycle through the device before concluding the cell is defective. After cycle two the voltage curve normalises and the alarm clears on its own.

The ELAN 1100 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in the box for a few months before fitting — what's happened?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge during storage, and if the pack voltage dropped below the ELAN 1100's BMS recovery threshold — around 10V — the controller locks out the battery as a safety measure and blocks startup. Put the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle without attempting to power on the device mid-charge. Once voltage recovers above the BMS unlock threshold the controller re-initialises and the device will boot normally.

The ELAN 1100 self-test is failing after the battery swap — the device logs a battery error even though charging completes normally

The self-test failure is almost always a BMS learn cycle issue, not a cell fault. The ELAN 1100 runs a capacity verification routine during self-test, and on a new cell that hasn't completed a full cycle yet, the measured capacity falls short of the stored OEM baseline — triggering the error. Complete one full charge from flat to 100%, then run the self-test again. Once the BMS has a full cycle's data to reference, the self-test passes and the error clears.
