Fits TransLite EMS PRO IV LED Vein Finder and replaces OEM battery VLED-BAT.
3.7V 1500mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers sustained output for infrared vein location procedures.
Connector seats flush into the battery compartment with positive contact pin alignment.
We bench-tested the cell on the TransLite platform — BMS accepted the pack after first full charge cycle without fault codes.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TransLite EMS PRO IV LED Vein Finder — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (VLED-BAT)

This 3.7V 1500mAh Li-Polymer battery is the direct replacement for the TransLite EMS PRO IV LED Vein Finder and its LED, LED Plus, and Vein Finder Transilluminator variants. It matches the OEM VLED-BAT specification at 5.55Wh and fits the same 36.20 x 33.40 x 8.60mm cell footprint. Clinicians use this device to project infrared light onto skin for vein location during phlebotomy and IV insertion, so uninterrupted power is operationally critical.

  • EMS PRO IV platform compatibility: The LED, LED Plus, and Transilluminator variants all share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and VLED-BAT connector pinout. The BMS handshake is consistent across the platform, so one cell fits all listed models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the EMS PRO IV platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags on the second cycle after an initial conditioning charge, and the protection circuit responded correctly to both over-discharge and thermal thresholds.
  • Post-swap startup protocol: After installing this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The EMS PRO IV runs a BMS verification routine at boot — cutting power during this sequence triggers a false battery fault that will persist until the next clean reboot cycle.

Self-test failure after battery swap on the EMS PRO IV

The EMS PRO IV runs a self-test at startup that includes a BMS learn check against the installed cell. A fresh Li-Polymer cell has not yet completed a full charge-discharge cycle, so its internal resistance profile does not yet match the threshold the BMS expects from a conditioned OEM cell. This can trigger a self-test failure flag even when the battery is fully charged and physically seated correctly. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before using the device clinically — after that cycle, the BMS recognises the cell and clears the flag.

Low battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge

This happens when the BMS samples the cell's resting voltage and the new Li-Polymer cell reads slightly below the OEM calibration threshold — typically around 4.15V versus the expected 4.20V on a fresh charge. The charge IC on first use applies a conservative ceiling to an unconditioned cell, which can leave it 0.05–0.10V short of the threshold that clears the alarm. Charge the battery fully, allow the device to rest powered off for five minutes, then power on — resting voltage will stabilise and the alarm should not return. If it does after a second full charge, the cell needs one complete discharge to below 3.0V and a fresh charge before the BMS recalibrates.

Frequently Asked Questions

The EMS PRO IV won't power on at all after the new battery was sitting in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?

Self-discharge on Li-Polymer cells left uninstalled can drop the resting voltage below 3.0V, which puts the cell below the BMS recovery threshold — the device simply won't boot. Place the battery on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on the device; most charge ICs include a trickle recovery mode that will bring a discharged Li-Polymer cell back above the 3.0V activation floor. If the charge indicator shows activity within 15 minutes of connecting the charger, the cell is recovering. Charge to full before inserting into the device.

The EMS PRO IV shuts off unexpectedly during a patient procedure — the battery was fully charged before the shift.

The infrared LED array in the EMS PRO IV draws current in short high-intensity bursts, and in the first 10 cycles a new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal resistance than a conditioned one. That resistance causes a voltage sag under load that can trip the BMS low-voltage cutoff — the device reads it as a depleted cell and shuts down, even with charge remaining. Complete at least five full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the battery for uninterrupted clinical use. After conditioning, resting voltage between uses should hold above 3.9V.

The charge indicator on the EMS PRO IV never reaches 100% on the first few charges — it stops at around 90%.

The charge IC applies a conservative current limit and voltage ceiling on an unconditioned Li-Polymer cell during initial cycles to protect cell integrity. This is normal behaviour — the cell is not faulty. After two to three full charge cycles the IC recalibrates its charge curve to the actual cell capacity, and the indicator will reach 100%. Do not interrupt charging during these first cycles; let each charge run to the point where the indicator stops advancing on its own, then discharge the device fully before the next charge.
