Fits Drager Oxylog 2000, Microvent, and Oxylog 2000 Ventilator; replaces OEM part 8411599 and equivalent cross-references.
Supplies 7.2V at 2000mAh capacity — delivers the full charge window this ventilator's BMS expects during transport and backup operation.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no adapter needed; locking tab seats flush when fully inserted.
We bench-tested this cell on a charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepts the Ni-MH chemistry without delay or fault codes on first install.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — the Oxylog 2000 runs BMS verification at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false battery fault.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Drager Oxylog 2000 / Microvent — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (8411599)

This is a 7.2V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Drager Oxylog 2000 and Microvent portable ventilators. It fits both the standard Oxylog 2000 and Oxylog 2000 Ventilator configurations. Capacity is 14.4Wh, matching the OEM specification.

  • Oxylog 2000 and Microvent compatibility: Both units share the same 7.2V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell pack covers both platforms without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on Oxylog 2000 hardware. The BMS accepted the pack on first insertion, completed its verification sequence, and held voltage within the device's operating threshold under ventilator load.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the Oxylog 2000 to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. The device BMS runs a chemistry verification at startup — cutting power during this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Why the Oxylog 2000 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Oxylog 2000 BMS was calibrated against the impedance and charge acceptance curve of OEM Ni-MH cells. A new replacement cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile before it has been cycled. The BMS reads this as a marginal state-of-charge and triggers the low battery alarm even when the pack is fully charged. Running one complete charge-discharge-recharge cycle lets the BMS recalibrate against the actual cell characteristics and clears the alarm on subsequent use.

Device not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature. A pack stored for several months can drop below the Oxylog 2000 BMS recovery threshold — typically around 5.5V for a 7.2V pack — which causes the device to refuse to start rather than risk operating on an unstable supply. Connect the pack to the Oxylog 2000 charger and allow a full charge cycle to complete before attempting to power on the device. If the charger does not initiate, check that the terminal voltage is above 4.5V with a multimeter; below that level, a conditioning charge on a compatible Ni-MH charger is needed first.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Oxylog 2000 shows a low battery alarm straight after fitting a new fully charged pack — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The Oxylog 2000 BMS compares the new cell's impedance against its stored OEM profile and flags the mismatch as a low-charge condition. Run one full charge-discharge-recharge cycle on the device before clinical use. After that cycle the BMS recalibrates and the alarm clears on confirmed full charge.

The Oxylog 2000 shut off mid-use and will not restart — the battery was showing adequate charge before it went down.

New Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance in the first several cycles, which causes voltage to sag sharply under ventilator load even when resting voltage looks acceptable. The BMS interprets this sag as a battery fault and cuts the supply to protect the load. Recharge the pack fully and complete at least three charge-discharge cycles before relying on it in a clinical setting — by cycle three, internal resistance drops and voltage sag under load normalises.

The charge indicator on the Oxylog 2000 is not reaching 100% on the first charge of the new battery — is the charger faulty?

The charger is applying a conservative charge limit on an uncycled cell, which is normal behaviour for the Oxylog 2000 charge IC when it cannot yet read the full capacity of the pack. Allow the first charge to complete fully without removing the pack early, then run a full discharge and recharge. On the second charge cycle the indicator should reach 100% as the charge IC has now mapped the cell's actual capacity.
