Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Edan X12 / F15 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (01.21.064381)
This 10.8V 6700mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the Edan X12 and F15 portable ECG monitors. It matches the OEM voltage rail and BMS communication protocol required by both devices. Capacity figure is drawn directly from product data — 72.36Wh.
- X12 and F15 platform compatibility: Both devices share the same 10.8V three-cell battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake sequence. The X12 and F15 pull from the same OEM battery line — part numbers 01.21.064381, 120010-O, and ID996 all cross-reference to this cell pack.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through a full charge-discharge sequence on the X12 platform. The BMS completed its verification handshake without fault codes, and the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering a chemistry mismatch alarm.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The X12 and F15 run a BMS verification step at startup — cutting power during that sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Why the X12 or F15 won't complete its boot sequence on a new battery
The X12 boot sequence includes a BMS interrogation step that checks cell voltage against an internal threshold. A new battery that has partially self-discharged during storage can sit just below that threshold, causing the device to stall mid-boot or restart in a loop. This is not a faulty battery — it is the device's protective logic responding to a low resting voltage. Connect the device to mains power and allow a full charge cycle before attempting to boot on battery alone.
Charge indicator stalls below 100% on the first charge
The X12 charge IC applies a conservative upper current limit when it first encounters a new cell with no charge history. This causes the indicator to plateau — typically between 90% and 97% — and hold there for an extended period before the final top-off completes. Do not remove the battery or interrupt the charge. Let the cycle finish fully; subsequent charges will reach 100% at the expected rate. If the indicator never advances past 90% after two full charge attempts, check that the charger output is within the rated input voltage for the device.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Edan X12 is alarming low battery immediately after I charged the replacement cell overnight — is the battery defective?
It is not defective. The X12 BMS is calibrated to the charge history of the OEM cell, and a new replacement with no prior cycles can register below the device's low-battery threshold even at full charge. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — power the device fully on, use it until it shuts down on low battery, then charge uninterrupted to completion. After that first conditioning cycle, the BMS threshold and the actual cell capacity will align and the alarm will clear.
The X12 shuts off unexpectedly mid-examination even though the battery indicator showed above 50% when I started — what causes this?
New Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles, which causes voltage to sag sharply under the load of an active ECG acquisition. The X12's protection circuit reads that voltage sag as a critically low state and triggers a cutoff before the capacity gauge catches up. This behaviour resolves as the cell conditions over the first several cycles — the internal resistance drops and the voltage sag under load becomes much smaller. Continue normal use through 10 full cycles before drawing clinical conclusions about battery performance.
After swapping the battery, the Edan F15 is showing a battery self-test failure on startup — how do I clear it?
The F15 records a self-test failure when the BMS learn cycle has not been completed on the new cell. Power the device off fully, reinsert the battery, connect to mains, and allow a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%. Then boot the device and let the startup self-test run to completion without pressing any keys or removing power. If the fault persists after one full charge cycle, perform a second charge-discharge cycle; the BMS clears the fault flag once it logs two clean charge cycles from the new cell.
