Fits Huntleigh Auto Excell Memory ultrasound doppler, replaces OEM battery EE300158.
4.8V, 40mAh Ni-MH chemistry powers portable vascular and obstetric diagnostic imaging without interruption.
Connector slides into vertical slot with positive terminal facing upward; locking tab seats flush.
We bench-tested the cell on a dummy load profile; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
After installation, let the device complete its power-on self-test cycle uninterrupted — medical devices verify battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false fault that only clears on full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huntleigh Auto Excell Memory — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (EE300158)

This is a 4.8V, 40mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Huntleigh Auto Excell Memory ultrasound Doppler and the Nesbitt Evans Nimbus II Airbed. Part number EE300158 matches the OEM connector and cell configuration. Capacity is 40mAh (0.19Wh) — use the figure from the product data, not aftermarket listings that inflate it.

  • Auto Excell Memory and Nimbus II compatibility: Both devices share the EE300158 cell format — same voltage rail, same connector footprint, same BMS handshake requirements. Swapping between models is supported by the shared electrical spec, not by assumption.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted the new cell after one full charge-discharge cycle, and voltage held steady through the load profile typical of a portable Doppler unit.
  • Power-on self-test after installation: After fitting this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The Auto Excell Memory runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the Auto Excell Memory flags a battery fault on a brand-new cell

Medical Doppler devices set their low-battery alarm threshold against a calibrated OEM cell that has completed at least one full cycle. A fresh replacement cell reads slightly below that threshold on first use because the chemistry hasn't stabilised. The BMS interprets this as a degraded cell, not a new one. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before clinical use — the fault clears once the cell voltage profile matches what the BMS expects.

Device will not power on after the battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature. A cell stored for several months can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 4.0V for a 4.8V Ni-MH pack — and the device refuses to boot. Place the battery on charge for a full cycle before attempting to power on. If the charger does not register the cell at all, a trickle-charge compatible charger can recover cells sitting above 3.6V before handing off to normal charge current.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Auto Excell Memory is alarming low battery straight after a confirmed full charge — is the new battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The device BMS compares the incoming cell voltage against a threshold calibrated for a conditioned OEM cell. A new Ni-MH replacement reads slightly low until the chemistry stabilises across one full cycle. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle before clinical use — the alarm clears once the cell voltage profile registers within the expected range.

The device shuts off unexpectedly during a patient examination — the battery was showing full before the session started.

Portable Doppler units apply a more demanding load profile than the standby draw that shows on the charge indicator. In the first 10 cycles, a new Ni-MH cell has not yet reached full capacity delivery under load, so voltage sags earlier than the display suggests. The BMS trips the cutoff to protect the device circuit. Condition the battery through several full cycles before relying on it for extended clinical sessions — after cycle 10, the voltage sag under load reduces significantly.

The charge indicator on the Auto Excell Memory stopped at around 80% and would not advance — the charger appeared to be running normally.

The charge IC applies a conservative current limit on the first charge of a new Ni-MH cell to avoid overheating an unconditioned pack. This causes the indicator to plateau before 100%. Let the first charge run to completion without removing the battery — the IC will terminate automatically when the cell reaches capacity. Subsequent charges complete to full without the plateau.
