Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge

On first charge, the Datalys 780's charge controller applies a reduced current limit to a new, uncharacterised lithium cell. This causes the charge indicator to plateau below 100% and sometimes stop climbing entirely. The cell is not defective — the charge IC is being conservative until it has data on the cell's internal resistance. Leave the device connected to mains after the indicator stalls; the controller will resume taper charging and reach full termination voltage (16.8V across the pack) within the same session.
