Fits Nihon Kohden Cardiolife ECG-9320 and replaces OEM part LC-S2912NK.
12V 2900mAh sealed lead-acid cell delivers 34.8Wh — adequate reserve for repeated defibrillation cycles and extended standby in emergency departments.
Bayonet connector with positive/negative terminals lock into the Cardiolife battery compartment; orientation is marked on the case.
Bench testing showed the BMS accepted full charge within two cycles; no cutoff anomalies during load simulation at clinical current draw.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — the Cardiolife BMS validates cell chemistry on startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Nihon Kohden Cardiolife ECG-9320 Series — 12V Sealed Lead Acid Replacement Battery (LC-S2912NK)

This is a 12V 2900mAh sealed lead-acid replacement battery for the Nihon Kohden Cardiolife ECG-9320 defibrillator series. It fits the ECG-9320, TEC-7431, TEC-7511, and TEC-7521 platforms. The OEM part number is LC-S2912NK.

  • Cardiolife TEC and ECG-9320 platform fit: These models share the same 12V SLA bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery revision covers the full range listed above without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under the ECG-9320 charge profile and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, completed the charge handshake, and held voltage within the device's operating window across repeated discharge cycles.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the Cardiolife unit to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification at startup — cutting power mid-sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Low battery alarm immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Cardiolife's BMS compares the new cell's resting voltage against a threshold calibrated to the OEM cell's charge curve. A fresh SLA cell often presents a resting voltage slightly below that threshold on the first cycle, triggering the alarm even when the cell is fully charged. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty battery. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle on the device before drawing any conclusion about battery health. After that cycle the BMS re-evaluates the cell and the alarm clears at approximately 12.6–12.8V resting voltage.

Device will not power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Sealed lead-acid cells self-discharge at roughly 3–5% per month. If this battery was stored before installation and voltage dropped below 10.5V, the Cardiolife's BMS will refuse to initialise — the device shows nothing on power-on. Connect the unit to mains and leave it on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle, typically 24 hours. The charger will apply a recovery trickle below the BMS threshold before stepping up to bulk charge. Once resting voltage recovers above 11V the device will boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Cardiolife ECG-9320 shows a battery fault on screen right after installing the new LC-S2912NK — did we get a defective cell?

Almost certainly not. The ECG-9320's BMS runs a voltage acceptance check at startup, and a new SLA cell often sits just below the OEM-calibrated threshold before its first full cycle. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle without interrupting the device mid-sequence. After that cycle resting voltage should read 12.6–12.8V and the fault will clear.

The defibrillator powers on after the battery swap but shuts off unexpectedly during a self-test or charge cycle — what's causing that?

The Cardiolife applies a high-current load pulse during its self-test sequence to verify battery output capacity. New SLA cells have slightly elevated internal resistance in the first 5–10 cycles, which causes a momentary voltage sag that crosses the device's low-voltage cutoff. This is a break-in effect, not a fault. Complete at least one full charge-discharge cycle before clinical use and the cutoff threshold will no longer be triggered under normal load.

The charge indicator on the ECG-9320 won't reach 100% on the first charge after fitting the LC-S2912NK — is the charger rejecting the battery?

The Cardiolife charge IC applies a conservative absorption limit on an unfamiliar cell to avoid overcharging a potentially degraded battery. On the first charge this can cap the displayed state-of-charge below 100% even when the cell is physically full. Leave the device on mains charge for a full uninterrupted cycle. On the second charge the IC recalibrates against the actual cell capacity and the indicator will reach 100% at approximately 13.5–13.8V.
