Blaupunkt AX-262 — 12V Sealed Lead Acid Replacement Battery (CR-2000S)

This is a 12V, 2300mAh (27.6Wh) sealed lead-acid replacement battery for the Blaupunkt AX-262 medical device. It replaces OEM part CR-2000S directly. The battery fits the AX-262's internal battery bay and connects to the same charge management circuit as the original cell.

• AX-262 compatibility: The AX-262 runs a sealed lead-acid chemistry bus at 12V. This replacement matches that voltage rail and uses the same cell geometry (182.21 × 60.74 × 23.58mm), so the BMS communicates correctly without triggering a chemistry mismatch fault.

Why the AX-262 BMS needs one full cycle before clinical use

Medical device charge controllers calibrate their capacity gauge against the actual cell's charge acceptance curve. A new sealed lead-acid cell has a slightly higher internal resistance than a bedded-in original, so the BMS's state-of-charge calculation starts off conservative. Running one complete charge-discharge cycle lets the firmware update its learned capacity baseline. Until that cycle completes, the device may display a lower charge percentage than the cell actually holds.

Charge indicator stuck below 100% after first full charge

This happens when the charge IC applies a conservative absorption voltage limit on an unrecognised new cell. The cell is not faulty — the controller hasn't logged a completed cycle yet. Connect the AX-262 to mains, allow it to charge undisturbed until the charger drops to float stage, then run the device on battery until it triggers a low-battery alert. Recharge fully from that point and the indicator should reach 100% and hold.
