Fits Philips Intellivue X3 patient monitors; replaces OEM part M6457.
10.8V, 2600mAh lithium-ion cell powers continuous vital sign monitoring sessions.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a positive-end-first orientation and locks with a single tab.
We bench-tested this cell in the X3 platform; the BMS accepted the new pack after the first full charge cycle completed.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Intellivue X3 / MX100 — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (M6457)

This is a 10.8V, 2600mAh (28.08Wh) lithium-ion replacement battery for the Philips Intellivue X3 and MX100 portable patient monitors. It replaces OEM part numbers M6457 and 989803196521. The battery also fits models 867030 and 867033 within the same platform series.

  • Intellivue X3 and MX100 platform fit: These monitors share the same 10.8V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell covers both platforms. Swapping between units in a fleet does not require a different cell.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Intellivue X3 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, completed capacity verification, and cleared the battery status register without fault codes.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the monitor to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The Intellivue platform runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Why the Intellivue X3 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Intellivue BMS compares incoming cell capacity data against a stored OEM chemistry profile. A new replacement cell has not yet completed a learn cycle, so the BMS reads the state-of-charge conservatively and triggers a low battery alarm even when the cell is fully charged. This is not a fault with the cell — it is the BMS applying its threshold before calibration. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle, then allow the monitor to recharge to 10.8V before returning to clinical use.

Intellivue X3 will not power on after battery sat in storage

Lithium-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below the Intellivue BMS recovery threshold — typically around 9V for a 10.8V nominal pack — the BMS locks out the discharge path and the monitor will not boot. Place the battery on charge for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to power on the device. If the charge indicator does not respond within that window, check charger contact and retry. The BMS re-enables the discharge path once the cell recovers above its reinitialisation threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Intellivue X3 is showing a low battery alarm straight after I charged the new replacement — did I get a faulty cell?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The Intellivue BMS runs its charge assessment against a stored OEM chemistry profile, and a new cell has not yet completed a learn cycle, so the monitor reads state-of-charge conservatively. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the monitor before drawing any conclusions. After that cycle, recharge fully to 10.8V and the alarm should clear.

The Intellivue X3 shuts down unexpectedly during a monitoring session — could this be the new battery?

Yes, this can happen in the first ten cycles on a replacement cell. The Intellivue platform applies a demanding load profile during continuous monitoring, and a new cell's internal resistance is slightly higher before it settles. The BMS may interpret a voltage sag under load as a critically low cell and trigger a protective shutdown. Complete at least five full charge-discharge cycles before using the battery in uninterrupted clinical monitoring sessions.

The charge indicator on the Intellivue X3 never reaches 100% on the first charge with the new battery — is the charger or the cell at fault?

Neither is faulty. The Intellivue charge IC applies a conservative current limit on a new, uncalibrated cell and terminates the charge cycle early on the first pass. The displayed percentage reflects the BMS estimate, which is not yet calibrated to the new cell's actual capacity. Run one complete cycle — full charge, full discharge, then charge again — and the indicator should reach 100% on the second charge.
