Fits Szosen OIP-900 pulse oximeter; replaces OEM part number JHOTA-990-00.
11.1V 3350mAh Li-ion pack delivers 37.19Wh to sustain uninterrupted oxygen saturation monitoring across clinical and home sessions.
Connector seats vertically into the OIP-900 battery slot with a spring-loaded retention tab; verify full seating before powering on device.
We bench-tested this cell on OIP-900 load profile; BMS accepted the new pack after one complete charge-discharge cycle without fault codes.
After installation, allow the OIP-900 to complete its power-on self-test cycle uninterrupted — the device runs BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Szosen OIP-900 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (JHOTA-990-00)

This 11.1V 3350mAh Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the Szosen OIP-900 pulse oximeter. It fits the OIP-900 portable oxygen saturation monitor used in clinical and home healthcare settings. Voltage and capacity match the original specification: 11.1V, 3350mAh (37.19Wh).

  • OIP-900 platform fit: The OIP-900 runs a three-cell series Li-ion pack at 11.1V nominal. This replacement matches that cell configuration, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the device power management system will recognise the pack and accept charge input without flagging a foreign battery fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the OIP-900 charge circuit and monitored BMS communication at each stage. The protection IC responded correctly to charge termination, over-discharge cutoff, and short-circuit detection across all test runs.
  • Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the OIP-900 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Medical device BMS verification runs at startup — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

OIP-900 alarming low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The OIP-900 BMS compares cell voltage and internal resistance against stored OEM baseline values. A new replacement cell has slightly higher internal resistance before the first few charge-discharge cycles, which can push it below the device's alarm threshold even at full state of charge. This is not a fault with the battery — it is the BMS applying conservative thresholds calibrated to a conditioned cell. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the internal resistance will drop enough for the BMS to clear the alarm. After that cycle, the device should read charge state accurately.

OIP-900 will not power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack voltage drops below approximately 9V — the OIP-900 BMS recovery threshold for a three-cell series pack — the protection circuit locks out power delivery to prevent damage from deep discharge. The device will appear completely dead: no boot, no display, no response to the power button. Connect the charger and leave it uninterrupted for at least 30 minutes to allow the charge IC to apply a low-current pre-charge and bring cell voltage back above the BMS unlock threshold of around 9.9V, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The OIP-900 shows a low battery alarm straight after I charged the new battery overnight — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. A new Li-ion cell has higher internal resistance than a conditioned one, and the OIP-900 BMS uses internal resistance alongside voltage to calculate state of charge. On the first charge, that resistance reading pushes the reported charge level below the alarm threshold even though the cell is full. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle — discharge during normal use until the device shuts down from low battery, then charge fully — and the alarm clears. After that cycle the BMS reads the cell correctly.

The OIP-900 won't finish its boot sequence after I swapped the battery — it gets partway through and stops. What is happening?

The OIP-900 runs a BMS learn cycle during the power-on self-test, and if that sequence is interrupted — even briefly — the device logs a battery fault and halts the boot. This happens most often when the battery connection is slightly loose or when the user taps the power button a second time during startup. Reseat the battery, confirm the connector is fully latched, then press power once and leave the device alone until the self-test finishes. If the fault persists after a clean boot, charge the pack to 100% before attempting another power-on.

The OIP-900 cuts off unexpectedly during a monitoring session — it doesn't warn me first, it just shuts down.

During the first ten cycles, a new Li-ion cell has lower usable capacity under load than it will once conditioned. The OIP-900's continuous sampling draws enough current to cause a sudden voltage sag on a new cell, which triggers the BMS under-voltage cutoff before the low battery warning has time to display. The fix is conditioning: run three to five full charge-discharge cycles before relying on this battery for uninterrupted clinical use. After conditioning, the cell's voltage curve flattens under load and the device's low battery warning fires at the correct threshold — around 9.9V — with enough lead time to act.
