Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Physiomed Hivamat 200 — 7.2V Ni-CD Replacement Battery (110569-U)

This is a 7.2V 2000mAh Ni-CD battery for the Physiomed Hivamat 200 electrotherapy device. It fits the Hivamat 200 and Hivamat 200 Muscle Stimulator, restoring cordless operation when the original cell degrades. Capacity is 2000mAh (14.4Wh), matching the OEM specification exactly.

  • Hivamat 200 and 200 Muscle Stimulator fit: Both variants share the same 7.2V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 110569-U part number covers both. No adapter or wiring change is needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge cycles on the Hivamat 200 platform and confirmed the BMS completed its initialisation handshake without triggering a fault flag. Capacity readout stabilised after two full charge-discharge cycles.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol for the Hivamat 200: After installing this battery, let the device complete its full power-on self-test without interrupting it. The Hivamat 200 runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during that sequence logs a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge cycle

The Hivamat 200 charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or cold cell. On fresh Ni-CD cells, this causes the charge indicator to plateau early — typically around 80–90% — before the first full cycle is complete. This is not a fault with the battery or charger. Run one complete charge-discharge cycle and the IC recalibrates its endpoint detection. After that cycle, the indicator should reach full charge consistently.

Device alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Hivamat 200 BMS stores a chemistry-specific threshold profile from the previous cell. A new Ni-CD replacement reads differently under initial load, and the BMS interprets the voltage curve as below-threshold — triggering a low battery alarm even on a full charge. This is a learn-cycle issue, not a defective battery. Complete one full charge-discharge cycle before clinical use. The BMS updates its reference profile after that cycle and the alarm clears.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Hivamat 200 won't power on after the new battery sat in the box for a few weeks — is the cell dead?

Ni-CD cells self-discharge in storage, and if the voltage drops below the Hivamat 200's BMS recovery threshold, the device won't boot at all. Place the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle — the charger's trickle stage will bring the cell voltage back above the BMS minimum. Once it reaches approximately 7.2V under no-load, the device should power on normally.

The Hivamat 200 is shutting off unexpectedly mid-session even though the battery showed full charge before use.

New Ni-CD cells have higher internal resistance in the first 10 cycles, and the Hivamat 200's load profile during active therapy draws enough current to cause a temporary voltage sag. The BMS reads that sag as a low-voltage cutoff event and shuts the device down as a precaution. This behaviour resolves as the cell's internal resistance drops with use. Run five to ten full charge-discharge cycles before relying on the battery for uninterrupted clinical sessions.

The self-test on the Hivamat 200 keeps failing after I swapped the battery — the device flags a battery fault every time it boots.

This happens when the power-on self-test is interrupted before the BMS completes its verification routine — either by the user powering off too early or by a brief supply dip during startup. The fault flag persists until the device completes a clean, uninterrupted boot. Power the device on, leave it completely undisturbed through the full self-test sequence, then run one complete charge-discharge cycle so the BMS can finish its learn pass and clear the flag.
