Fits Stimulator A1B, DK7-088-0200, Globus MyStim, Musculaire Myo medical stimulator units.
7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH delivers consistent power for full treatment sessions on therapeutic devices.
Connector slides straight in with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against device housing.
We ran five charge cycles on bench with no fault codes; BMS accepted the new cell immediately.
After installation, let the device complete its power-on self-test without interruption—medical devices verify battery chemistry at startup, and stopping this sequence triggers a false fault that only clears on full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Stimulator A1B / Globus MyStim — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Stimulator A1B, DK7-088-0200, Globus MyStim, and Musculaire Myo therapeutic stimulation devices. It restores power to portable clinical and personal-use electrotherapy units where the original cell has lost charge-holding capacity. Voltage and chemistry match the original specification exactly.

  • A1B / MyStim / Musculaire Myo platform: These models share a common 7.2V Ni-MH voltage rail and BMS handshake protocol. The battery connector and cell configuration are interchangeable across this cluster, which is why one replacement covers all four fit models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on compatible stimulator hardware. The BMS accepted the new cell, completed voltage verification, and held within expected tolerance across the first three cycles.
  • Startup self-test after swap: After installing this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. Medical-grade BMS firmware runs a voltage verification sequence at boot — cutting power during this window triggers a persistent battery fault that stays logged until the next clean reboot.

Device not completing boot sequence on a freshly installed battery

The A1B and MyStim run a BMS learn cycle on first power-up with a new cell. If the resting voltage of the new battery sits near the lower end of the Ni-MH acceptance window after shipping and storage, the firmware can flag it as insufficient and halt the boot sequence. This is not a faulty battery — it is the charge IC applying a conservative threshold before it has mapped the cell's actual capacity. Charge the battery fully before first use and attempt boot again; resting voltage should read at or above 7.2V at the pack terminals before powering on.

Charge indicator not reaching 100% on the first charge cycle

On the first charge with a new Ni-MH cell, the device's charge IC applies a conservative current limit and may terminate early if delta-V detection fires prematurely on a fresh cell. This can leave the indicator showing 85–95% even after a full charge duration. Run one complete charge-discharge-charge cycle before relying on the indicator reading for clinical use — Ni-MH cells typically need two to three cycles before the charge IC accurately tracks actual cell capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

The device is alarming low battery immediately after I charged the replacement — what's happening?

The BMS on these stimulators is calibrated to the charge profile of a conditioned OEM cell, and a brand-new Ni-MH pack has not yet established its full voltage curve. On the first cycle, the BMS self-test threshold can trip even when the cell is genuinely charged. Run one full charge-discharge cycle and the alarm should clear — the BMS needs that cycle to map the new cell's voltage signature before it stops flagging it as low.

The device won't power on at all — it sat unused for a few months after I installed the battery. What do I do?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day in storage. After several months, the pack voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold, and the device refuses to boot rather than risk an undervoltage fault. Connect the charger and leave it for a full charge cycle without attempting to power on — the charge IC will recover the cell from low voltage before the BMS will allow startup. If the device still does not respond after a complete charge, check pack terminal voltage; it should read at or above 7.2V before powering on.

The stimulator is shutting off unexpectedly mid-session even though the battery showed charged — is the battery defective?

This is a known behaviour with new Ni-MH cells in high-demand medical load profiles during the first ten cycles. A fresh cell has not yet reached its full internal resistance baseline, which means voltage sag under the device's treatment-mode current draw can momentarily dip below the BMS cutoff threshold — triggering an unexpected shutdown even with significant charge remaining. Complete at least three full charge-discharge cycles before clinical use; voltage sag under load reduces substantially once the cell is properly conditioned.
