This 3.8V, 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the TLp030B2 in the Alcatel One Touch Link Y855 mobile hotspot. The Y855 runs a combined cellular modem and multi-band WiFi radio off a single cell, so the battery takes the full load of both radios simultaneously. At 70.55 x 56.30 x 4.88mm, it fits the stock battery bay without modification.

The Y855 runs its modem and WiFi radio from the same cell with no separate power rail buffering. When multiple devices are active simultaneously, current draw spikes — especially if the cellular signal is weak and the modem is pushing full transmit power. If the cell's internal resistance has climbed due to age or degradation, voltage sags below the hotspot's minimum operating threshold and the device restarts. A fresh TLp030B2 cell with low internal resistance holds voltage steady through those spikes. If drop-outs persist on a new battery, check that the hotspot is not throttled by a firmware cap — update to the latest Y855 firmware before drawing conclusions.

Y855 not powering on after sitting unused for several weeks

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month, but the Y855's standby circuit draws a small parasitic current even when powered off. After extended storage, the cell can drop below 3.0V — the minimum voltage the BMS requires to allow a charge cycle to begin. If the device shows no response when plugged in, connect it to a USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The BMS uses a trickle pre-charge mode to recover cells between 2.5V and 3.0V. If the battery still does not respond after 45 minutes on charge, check the charger is delivering at least 5V at the port.
