Fits Alcatel One Touch Link Y900, Y900NB, and One Touch Link 4G+ models with OEM part number TLi036A1 replacement.
3.8V and 3800mAh capacity delivers 14.44Wh — sufficient for all-day hotspot operation with standard mixed-use traffic.
Micro-USB charging port on the Y900 accepts standard mobile device chargers; battery slides into the rear slot with a single locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell on the Y900 modem stack pulling WiFi and cellular simultaneously; BMS regulated voltage stable under load, no early cutoff.
Keep the hotspot in a well-ventilated location during extended sessions — the cellular radio operates at maximum power when devices are far away, generating heat that stresses the battery.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel One Touch Link Y900 Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi036A1)

This is a 3800mAh, 3.8V Li-ion replacement battery for the Alcatel One Touch Link Y900 portable WiFi hotspot. It fits the Y900, Y900NB, One Touch Link 4G+, and One Touch Link 4G+ LTE. It slots directly into the original battery bay and connects to the device's onboard BMS.

  • Y900 and Y900NB compatibility: These models share the same 3.8V power rail, battery footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. The TLi036A1 part number covers the entire Y900 platform — the connector pinout and charge termination voltage are identical across all variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery under a combined modem and 4G radio load simulating six connected clients. The BMS held charge termination at 4.35V and did not trip under sustained draw. Capacity read within 3% of rated on discharge.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot on an open surface, not inside a bag or pocket, during long sessions. The cellular radio runs at maximum output when connected devices are far away or signal is weak — that heat buildup accumulates at the battery and accelerates cell degradation over time.

Hotspot disconnecting users mid-session on a new battery

The Y900 draws current from two sources simultaneously — the 4G/LTE modem and the WiFi radio. At maximum connected clients, combined draw can spike sharply, causing a brief voltage sag. If the BMS interprets that sag as a low-cell event, it will cut output to protect the cells, dropping all connected devices instantly. A degraded or counterfeit cell with high internal resistance triggers this at lower loads. This replacement uses cells rated for the Y900's peak draw profile, which keeps the BMS from tripping under normal multi-device load.

Y900 not powering on after sitting unused for several weeks

The Y900's standby current draw is low but continuous — the device slowly depletes the battery even when idle. After weeks of storage, the cell voltage can fall below the minimum boot threshold, typically around 3.0V for this chemistry. At that point the device shows no response on the power button. Connect it to the charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on — most BMS circuits require a trickle pre-charge cycle to recover a deep-discharged cell before normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Y900 hotspot keeps dropping all connected devices for a few seconds, then reconnecting — what's causing that?

This is a BMS protection trip, not a WiFi issue. When multiple clients are active and cellular signal is marginal, the combined modem and radio draw spikes — a cell with high internal resistance can't sustain that current without a brief voltage sag, and the BMS cuts output to protect it. The drop-and-reconnect pattern is the fingerprint of this fault. Replace the battery and check that the hotspot isn't enclosed in a bag during use, which compounds heat and resistance.

The Y900 battery drains noticeably faster when I'm in an area with weak 4G signal — is that normal?

Yes, and it's specific to how cellular radios work. When signal is weak, the modem automatically increases transmit power to maintain the connection — this is the highest-draw state the Y900 can be in. Combined with active WiFi clients, the battery sees sustained high current that it wouldn't under good signal conditions. There's no fix on the battery side; move the hotspot closer to a window or higher position to reduce the radio's output demand.

The Y900 shows a full charge indicator but then shuts off after a short time under load — what's happening?

This is a classic symptom of cell capacity fade, where the battery reports a high state of charge but the actual usable energy is much lower. The voltage reads correctly at rest but collapses under load because the cell can no longer deliver current at rated capacity. A voltmeter on the contacts at rest will show close to 4.2V, but the device shuts down as soon as draw increases. Fitting a new TLi036A1 cell restores the full 3800mAh rated capacity and eliminates the false full-charge readings.
