Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TP-Link M5600 / TL-5600 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TBL-45A1000)
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the TP-Link M5600 mobile hotspot. It fits models listed as 5600 and TL-5600. Swap it in when the original battery no longer holds a charge long enough to be useful away from a power outlet.
- M5600 / TL-5600 fit: Both model designations run the same 3.7V battery rail and use the TBL-45A1000 form factor — same connector, same BMS handshake, same physical footprint at 58.24 × 40.00 × 4.50mm.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the M5600 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the device reported accurate charge state through the full cycle.
- Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the M5600 on a hard, flat surface during long sessions — the cellular radio runs at full output power when connected devices are farther away, and trapping heat against soft surfaces accelerates cell stress.
M5600 dropping connected devices mid-session on a new battery
The M5600 runs two power-hungry systems simultaneously — the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio. When several devices are connected and the cellular signal is weak, both radios push to maximum output at the same time. That combined draw creates a brief voltage sag at the battery terminals. If the sag drops below the BMS cutoff threshold, the hotspot resets to protect the cell. A new battery with a fully charged cell handles the sag better than a degraded original, but the underlying cause is peak simultaneous draw — not a fault with the battery itself.
M5600 not powering on after sitting unused in a drawer
Li-ion cells self-discharge over time — typically 1–2% per week at room temperature. Left unused for several months, the M5600 battery can fall below the minimum boot voltage the BMS requires to allow a startup sequence. The device will appear completely dead even when placed on charge. Connect it to the original charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — most BMS circuits begin a trickle-recovery charge once the cell reaches approximately 2.5V, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My M5600 hotspot keeps disconnecting everyone connected to it — could the battery be causing it?
Yes, this is a known draw spike issue. When the M5600 is at maximum connected devices and the cellular signal is poor, the modem and Wi-Fi radio both run at peak output simultaneously, causing a brief voltage sag at the battery. If the original battery is degraded, its internal resistance is higher, and that sag dips further — triggering the BMS cutoff and resetting the hotspot. A fresh TBL-45A1000 cell has lower internal resistance, which reduces the depth of the sag and keeps the BMS from tripping. Start by fully charging the new battery before testing under load.
The M5600 battery drains much faster than it used to — what's actually happening?
The most common cause is poor cellular signal forcing the modem to transmit at maximum power continuously. When signal strength is low, the radio draws significantly more current than it does in a strong-signal area — and that increase compounds across every connected device. Check the signal indicator on the hotspot; if it's showing one or two bars, moving it closer to a window or elevated position will reduce radio draw noticeably. A degraded original battery also loses usable capacity through shallow-cycle wear, which a fresh 1000mAh TBL-45A1000 cell corrects on its own.
The M5600 gets noticeably warm during long sessions — is that a battery problem or something else?
Heat during extended sessions is mostly generated by the cellular modem, not the battery directly. The M5600's modem runs at sustained output power for as long as it maintains a cellular connection, and that heat transfers to the battery compartment. Sustained heat above roughly 40°C accelerates capacity loss in Li-ion cells over time. Place the hotspot on a hard, open surface — not a couch cushion or bag pocket — to allow passive airflow around the casing, which keeps operating temperatures closer to the 25–35°C range where Li-ion cells degrade slowest.
