Fits Huawei E5330 hotspot and replaces OEM battery HB603689EBW.
3.8V and 2650mAh capacity delivers full-cycle operation on this portable hotspot.
Connector slides straight in; locking tab secures the pack horizontally inside the battery door.
We bench-tested this cell under sustained 4G modem and Wi-Fi broadcast load — BMS held steady voltage, no early cutoff observed.
If the hotspot drops connected devices mid-session on first use, remove and reseat the battery — the E5330 firmware needs contact confirmation to register new cell parameters.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Speed Wi-Fi NEXT W04 / W05 / HWD35 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB603689EBW)

This is a 3.8V 2650mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Huawei E5330-based hotspots — the HWD35, Speed Wi-Fi NEXT W04, and Speed Wi-Fi NEXT W05. These portable Wi-Fi devices convert mobile signals into wireless networks for multiple connected clients. This replacement fits the original battery bay and matches the OEM part number HB603689EBW.

  • HWD35 / W04 / W05 platform fit: All three models run the same Huawei E5330 hardware platform, sharing the same battery footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between these models is straightforward — the voltage rail and communication lines are identical across the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined modem and Wi-Fi load — simulating peak draw from simultaneous connected clients. The BMS held charge thresholds correctly and did not trip on startup current from the cellular radio.
  • Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot on an open surface when running long sessions. When client devices are far from the hotspot, the cellular radio pushes to maximum output power. That sustained RF draw concentrates heat at the battery, accelerating cell degradation over time.

Why the HWD35 drops connections when multiple devices are active

The E5330 platform drives both the cellular modem and the Wi-Fi radio from the same battery rail. At maximum client connections, combined current draw spikes sharply. An aged or low-capacity cell cannot hold voltage steady under that combined load, so the BMS trips the output to protect the cell. The result looks like a Wi-Fi dropout but the root cause is voltage sag at the battery, not a signal issue.

Hotspot shows charged but won't boot after sitting unused for weeks

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the HWD35 sits long enough, the battery drops below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V per cell — and the device will not initialise even after being placed on charge. The charger may show no activity because the BMS blocks input until a recovery pulse re-engages it. Connect the hotspot to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the BMS recovery circuit needs uninterrupted voltage before it unlocks the charge path.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HWD35 disconnects all connected devices at the same time, even with strong signal — what's causing that?

This is a voltage sag failure, not a signal problem. When multiple clients are active, the modem and Wi-Fi radio draw peak current simultaneously, and a degraded cell can't hold the voltage rail steady — the BMS trips the output to protect the cell. Replacing the battery restores the voltage headroom the combined radio load requires. After fitting the new cell, test by connecting four or more devices and running simultaneous data transfers to confirm the BMS holds stable.

The hotspot battery drains noticeably faster when I'm in a weak signal area — is something wrong with the replacement?

Nothing is wrong. In poor signal areas, the cellular modem continuously boosts transmit power trying to maintain the network connection — this is the single highest sustained current draw the device produces. Add multiple connected clients on top of that and total draw can approach the cell's discharge ceiling. Keep the hotspot closer to a window or external wall to reduce the signal search cycle, which directly reduces radio power output and slows drain.

The HWD35 worked fine after I fitted the new battery, but now it randomly shuts off mid-session when the unit feels warm — what's happening?

Heat from a sustained cellular radio session raises the internal cell temperature, and the BMS has a thermal threshold that triggers a protective shutdown before the cell reaches damaging temperatures. This is the BMS working correctly, not a fault. Place the hotspot on a hard, open surface away from pockets, bags, or enclosed spaces during long sessions. If shutdowns still occur, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated fully — poor contact increases resistance and generates additional localised heat.
