Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel Pulsemix / OT-5085C — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp027AJ)
This 3.85V, 2800mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original TLp027AJ cell in the Alcatel Pulsemix, OT-5085C, A5, and One Touch A5 smartphones. It matches the factory voltage, physical footprint (77.73 × 62.70 × 3.40mm), and connector to the original. Fit this cell when the phone no longer holds charge, shuts down unexpectedly, or fails to power on.
- Pulsemix / OT-5085C platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, flex connector pinout, and 3.85V nominal voltage rail. The TLp027AJ part number covers the full variant range, so one cell fits the hardware without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-5085C platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly, charge IC accepted the cell without flagging an error, and the protection circuit tripped at the correct low-voltage threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. The fuel gauge IC in the Pulsemix is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — a slow first cycle lets the coulomb counter reset its reference before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Pulsemix after a cell swap
A new Li-Polymer cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-capacity curve than the aged cell the phone's fuel gauge was tracking. Under a high-current load — LTE modem active, screen at full brightness — the cell voltage can sag below the hardware cutoff threshold before the reported percentage reaches zero. The phone interprets this as a crash, not a low-battery shutdown. One full slow-rate discharge cycle lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's voltage cliff accurately and shift the cutoff trigger point accordingly.
Phone shows 0% and won't power on after sitting in storage
Li-Polymer cells left discharged below approximately 2.5V trigger a BMS protection lockout — the circuit opens to prevent further self-discharge damage to the cell. The phone will not respond to a normal power-on attempt in this state. Connect the phone to a 5V charger and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the phone does not respond after 45 minutes on charge, check that the charger is delivering at least 5V 1A at the cable end.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Alcatel Pulsemix report a wrong battery percentage after I fit the new cell?
The fuel gauge IC in the Pulsemix uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance and voltage profile, so the counter's reference is off from the first charge. Run one complete discharge — screen on, Wi-Fi active — down to auto-shutdown, then charge fully at standard rate without fast charge enabled. After that single cycle, the percentage reading will track correctly.
Fast charging stopped working on the Pulsemix after I replaced the battery — what's happening?
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the Pulsemix can refuse the fast-charge handshake because the BMS on the new cell hasn't yet confirmed a stable open-circuit voltage to the host. This is a one-cycle issue. Complete one full charge at standard 5V rate, let the phone rest for five minutes after it reaches 100%, then reconnect — the fast-charge protocol should negotiate correctly from that point forward.
The back of my Pulsemix feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage across the cell to maintain current — this produces more heat in the first few cycles. Warmth during charging is expected and decreases as the cell breaks in over three to five charge cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch (uncomfortable to hold) or the charger cuts out mid-charge, stop charging and check that the charger output is rated at 5V — overvoltage from a mismatched adapter will generate excessive heat on any new cell.
