Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel A30 Fierce / OT-5049Z Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp029C1)
This is a 3000mAh, 3.85V Li-Polymer cell replacing the OEM TLp029C1 battery in the Alcatel A30 Fierce and A30 Fierce LTE. It fits the OT-5049Z, OT-5049S, and the broader OT-5049 platform variants. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds voltage under screen or modem load.
- OT-5049 platform fit: The A30 Fierce, A30 Fierce LTE, OT-5049Z, and OT-5049S all run the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One cell covers the full lineup because Alcatel used a shared power architecture across the 5049 series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the OT-5049 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the fuel gauge IC began tracking state-of-charge from the first completed cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. The fuel gauge IC on the A30 Fierce calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's actual discharge curve — fast charging before that cycle completes pushes current into an uncalibrated cell and leaves the percentage readout unreliable.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the A30 Fierce after a cell swap
The OT-5049 platform pulls hard on the battery when LTE, the display, and background processes peak simultaneously. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge can report 25% remaining while actual cell voltage is already near the BMS low-voltage cutoff threshold. The BMS trips and the phone shuts off — not because the cell is faulty, but because the OS percentage does not match real voltage. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard charge rate and the coulomb counter aligns with the new cell's curve, pulling the reported percentage in line with actual voltage.
Phone reports wrong battery percentage after installing the TLp029C1 replacement
The A30 Fierce uses a fuel gauge IC that stores learned discharge data from the previous cell. After a swap, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's chemistry profile. The result is percentage readings that jump erratically or read higher than the actual voltage warrants. Charge the phone to 100%, let it discharge fully until shutdown, then charge uninterrupted back to 100% — one complete cycle resets the IC's reference points. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
The A30 Fierce won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead?
The TLp029C1's BMS locks out below approximately 2.5V per cell to prevent damage from deep discharge. A phone left in storage long enough will drain the cell past that threshold, and the BMS will refuse to pass current even when plugged in. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, the phone will power on and continue charging normally.
Fast charging stopped working on the A30 Fierce after I installed the replacement battery — why?
The A30 Fierce's charge IC negotiates the fast charge protocol with the BMS on the first connection. A new cell's BMS sometimes declines that handshake on the initial cycle because its internal resistance profile is unfamiliar to the charge controller. Plug in using the original cable and charger, let the phone charge fully at whatever rate it accepts, then discharge to below 20% and charge again — on the second cycle the charge IC re-negotiates and fast charge re-enables. If the original charger is unavailable, confirm the replacement outputs at least 5V/2A.
The A30 Fierce feels warm near the battery area during the first few charges after the swap — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first two to three charge cycles, the charge IC works slightly harder to push current through that higher resistance, and the cell itself dissipates a small amount of that energy as heat. Warmth during charging is expected in this window — it fades as the cell conditions through full cycles. If the back of the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, or if warmth persists beyond the third full charge cycle, check that the replacement cell is seated flat with no gap between the cell and the rear cover.
