Fits Asus ZenFone 5 2018 and ZE620KL; replaces OEM part 0B200-02890100 and C11P1708.
3.85V at 3200mAh delivers the charge curve this fuel gauge IC expects after original cell degradation.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with no locking tab; orientation marked on the flex contact.
We ran discharge cycles at 500mA and 1A loads; BMS accepted the cell and held voltage stable through shutdown.
On first charge after install, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge recalibrates to this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ZenFone 5 2018 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (0B200-02890100)

This 3.85V, 3200mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Asus ZenFone 5 2018 and ZenFone 5 2018 Dual SIM variants, including the ZE620KL. It matches OEM part numbers 0B200-02890100 and C11P1708 and fits the physical cavity at 75.45 × 64.85 × 3.65mm.

  • ZenFone 5 2018 series compatibility: The ZE620KL, standard, and Dual SIM TD-LTE models all share the same 3.85V voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all five variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on the ZE620KL platform. The BMS accepted charging without fault codes on the first cycle, and cell voltage held within spec across modem-active and display-on load states.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the ZenFone 5 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory. When the new cell hits its voltage cliff under modem or display load, the phone shuts down even though the percentage counter reads higher. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge with the screen off. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's actual capacity curve.

USB-PD fast charge not triggering after replacement

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the ZenFone 5 charge IC sometimes refuses the fast-charge handshake because the BMS has not yet confirmed a valid cell profile. The phone defaults to standard 5V charging as a safety fallback. Completing that first full slow charge cycle clears the flag. After the cycle finishes, fast charging re-engages normally on subsequent plugs.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ZenFone 5 shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC calibrated its percentage readings to your old, degraded cell and does not yet know the new cell's voltage curve. Under modem or screen load, the new cell hits a voltage drop the IC did not expect, and the phone cuts power to protect itself. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled — that resets the coulomb counter to the new cell.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — what do I do?

If a Li-Polymer cell drops below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage, the BMS locks out to prevent an unsafe charge. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold. Once voltage recovers past that point, the phone will boot normally.

The ZenFone 5 gets noticeably warm near the back during the first few charges on the new battery — is that normal?

A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first one or two charge cycles, the charge IC works harder to push current into the cell, which generates more heat than you'll see after the cell has been cycled a few times. Keep the phone out of a case for the first two charges so heat can dissipate freely. If warmth continues past the third full charge cycle, check that the replacement cell connectors are fully seated.
