Fits LG Optimus G2 Mini models D620, D620R, D620J and replaces OEM battery BL-59UH.
This cell supplies 3.8V at 2400mAh capacity, matching the original pack output for the Optimus G2 Mini.
Connector slides straight into the original battery slot with no modifications or adapter plates needed.
We bench-tested the BMS on a full charge cycle — no early cutoff, voltage held steady under load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LG Optimus G2 Mini D620 Series — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-59UH)

This is a 3.8V, 2400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the LG Optimus G2 Mini. It fits the D620, D620R, and D620J variants along with four additional D620 sub-models. Capacity comes from product data: 2400mAh / 9.12Wh.

  • D620 variant coverage: All D620 sub-models share the same voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell — BL-59UH — covers the full range. The charge IC communicates the same way across all regional variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a D620 unit. The BMS accepted the handshake without fault, and the charge IC held current limits within spec across the full charge curve.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge reset: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BL-59UH replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's voltage curve. The new cell hits a steeper voltage cliff under load — modem transmit or screen brightness spike — before the gauge catches up. The BMS cuts power to protect the cell even though the OS is showing charge remaining. One full discharge down to auto-shutdown, followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, resets the coulomb counter and eliminates the false floor.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The Android fuel gauge IC holds calibration data from the original cell in non-volatile memory. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so percentage jumps erratically or reads high and drops fast. The fix is one full uninterrupted cycle: drain the phone until it shuts itself off, then charge straight to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter maps to the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LG Optimus G2 Mini won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?

It isn't dead, but the BMS has almost certainly locked out below 2.5V per cell after deep discharge in storage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing power. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to lift it above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond. If the screen stays black past 45 minutes, check that the connector is fully seated and try a different cable.

Fast charging stopped working on my G2 Mini after I fitted the BL-59UH — regular charging still works fine.

The LG proprietary charge protocol requires a BMS handshake on the first cycle before the charge IC authorises high-current input. With a new cell, this handshake can fail on the first attempt if the fuel gauge IC hasn't completed its initialisation. Run one standard slow-charge cycle to 100% without interrupting it. After that cycle completes, reconnect the charger — the charge IC should negotiate the fast-charge protocol correctly at that point.

My G2 Mini gets noticeably warm near the battery during charging — is that normal with a new cell?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat than a conditioned one during the constant-current phase because internal resistance is slightly higher out of the box. This is expected for the first two to three charge cycles and drops off as the cell conditions. If the phone is warm to the touch but not hot — above 45°C feels distinctly uncomfortable to hold — it is within normal range. Check again after three full cycles; if warmth persists at the same level, reseat the battery connector to rule out a loose contact increasing resistance at the terminal.
