Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T Maestro Plus / Fusion Z — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (VSM3300)
This 3.85V, 3000mAh (11.55Wh) Li-Polymer cell replaces the original VSM3300 battery in the AT&T Maestro Plus, V340U, Motivate V341U, and Fusion Z. These are basic calling and messaging devices, and battery degradation is the most common reason users replace them rather than buying new hardware. Swapping this cell restores the device to its original power capacity.
- Maestro Plus / Fusion Z compatibility: The V340U, Motivate V341U, and Fusion Z share the same battery bay dimensions and VSM3300 connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across this device group, so the fuel gauge IC communicates correctly with each model's charge controller without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the VSM3300 replacement through full charge and discharge cycles on the Maestro Plus. The BMS accepted charge input without triggering overcurrent cutoff, and the fuel gauge IC registered cell voltage accurately once the discharge curve was established after the first full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before enabling it. The fuel gauge IC on these devices calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes the OS to display inaccurate percentages for the first several cycles.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Maestro Plus after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. The fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's discharge curve in memory after replacement, so it misreads the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship. When modem activity or screen load pulls current at the point where the new cell's voltage drops steeply, the phone cuts out even though the displayed percentage looks safe. One full discharge below 5% followed by a complete charge resets the coulomb counter and maps the new curve accurately. After that cycle, shutdown behaviour normalises.
Phone won't power on after the VSM3300 sat discharged in storage
Li-Polymer cells that drop below approximately 2.5V trigger BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell to prevent damage, and the phone shows no response to the power button or charger connection. Connect the device to a wall adapter, not a PC USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC on these devices sends a trickle current that slowly recovers the cell voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once the cell climbs back above 3.0V, the BMS reopens and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Maestro Plus shuts off randomly at around 25% battery — is the replacement cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC calibrated its discharge model against your original battery, and after a swap it misreads voltage drop under load on the new cell. When the modem fires during a call or the screen brightness peaks, current draw hits a point where the new cell's voltage sags below the shutdown threshold even though the displayed percentage looks healthy. Run one full discharge to under 5% and then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell curve and the early shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my Fusion Z jumps around erratically after I installed this replacement — what's happening?
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating. It still holds the impedance and discharge profile of the old cell, and until it maps the new one, it bounces between data points it cannot reconcile. This is normal for the first two to three cycles after any Li-Polymer swap on these devices. Complete two full discharge-and-charge cycles without interrupting them mid-way, and the percentage display will stabilise as the IC builds an accurate model of the new cell's behaviour.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed this VSM3300 battery — my V341U just slow-charges now.
The charge controller on the V341U runs a handshake with the BMS on the first cycle after a new cell is installed, and it defaults to standard charge current until that negotiation completes successfully. Plug into the original AT&T wall adapter rather than a third-party charger, then let the phone complete one full charge from under 10% to 100% without unplugging. On the next charge cycle, the BMS handshake resolves and the controller re-enables higher charge current. If fast charging still does not engage after two full cycles, check that the charge port is clean and the adapter output is at least 5V/2A.
