Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bea-fon SL250 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SL250)

This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell for the Bea-fon SL250 mobile phone. It replaces the original battery when the cell has degraded, holds less charge, or no longer powers the device. Capacity figures are taken directly from the product specification — 3.89Wh total energy.

  • SL250 platform fit: The SL250 uses a fixed 3.7V single-cell Li-ion configuration with a direct connector match. The BMS handshake on this platform is straightforward — no proprietary authentication chip, so the replacement cell communicates cleanly with the charge IC on the mainboard.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the SL250 mainboard. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the fuel gauge IC updated its state-of-charge reading within the first full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable any fast-charge mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Why the SL250 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The SL250 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its state-of-charge model against the original cell's discharge curve. When a new cell is installed, the IC is still referencing the old cell's data. Until it completes a full calibration cycle, percentage readings will be inaccurate — often appearing lower than actual charge. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% to reset the IC's reference curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't yet calibrated to the new cell and the reported percentage is ahead of actual cell voltage. Under screen or modem load, the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0–3.2V — before the OS registers low battery. The phone shuts off to protect the cell. One full discharge-charge cycle resolves this by aligning the IC's coulomb counter to the new cell's actual capacity floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bea-fon SL250 shows 25% battery and then shuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the SL250 is still calibrated to the old cell's voltage curve, so it reports a higher percentage than the cell can actually sustain under load. When the screen or modem draws current, cell voltage drops below 3.0–3.2V and the BMS cuts power before the OS shows a low battery warning. Run one full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — this resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's actual capacity.

The SL250 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below 2.5V, the BMS entered a lockout state to prevent damage to the cell. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring voltage above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging and power-on will resume.

The battery percentage on my SL250 jumps around erratically — it was at 60%, dropped to 40%, then jumped back to 55% — what's causing this?

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge profile. The IC uses a coulomb counter that was tuned to the original cell's internal resistance and capacity curve. On a fresh cell, those figures differ, so the IC's charge estimates drift until it accumulates enough cycle data to stabilise. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption and the percentage readings will settle into a consistent pattern.
