Fits BlackView A8 smartphones; replaces OEM part number A8 battery pack.
3.8V, 1700mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 6.46Wh to run processor, display, and modem.
Connector type is proprietary; battery seats flat in the phone's lower cavity with single contact latch on left edge.
We bench-tested the cell on a BlackView A8 charger circuit; BMS accepted charge on first cycle with no fault codes or voltage clipping.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BlackView A8 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (A8)

This 3.8V, 1700mAh Li-Polymer cell is a direct replacement for the BlackView A8 smartphone. It powers the phone's processor, display, and cellular radio. Capacity is 6.46Wh, matching the original battery specification.

  • BlackView A8 fitment: The A8 uses a fixed 3.8V Li-Polymer architecture with a specific connector orientation and BMS handshake tied to the phone's charge IC. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical footprint — 77.00 × 59.28 × 3.30mm — so it seats correctly in the battery bay without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the A8 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle, voltage held stable through screen-on and cellular transmission loads, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell. Skipping this step is the main cause of erratic percentage readings after a swap.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under modem or display load, cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge predicts — the phone shuts off before the reported percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Run one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging and the shutdowns stop. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's actual curve.

Device not powering on after sitting in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the A8 has been sitting unused — or the replacement cell shipped at low charge — the BMS may have locked out below the 2.5V per-cell threshold. Plug into a charger and leave it connected for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on. If the phone remains unresponsive, check that the charger is delivering at least 5V at the USB port, as a low-output adapter may not provide enough current to wake the BMS from lockout.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BlackView A8 shuts off randomly at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. This is a voltage cliff — under modem or screen load, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts, triggering a shutdown before the percentage hits zero. The fuel gauge is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Run one full discharge to near-zero and a full charge without fast charging enabled, and the coulomb counter will recalibrate to the new cell.

The battery percentage on my A8 keeps jumping around after the replacement — it was at 60%, then jumped to 45%, then back up to 55%.

Erratic percentage readings happen because the fuel gauge IC recalibrates its model against the new cell's discharge profile. The coulomb counter was mapped to the original cell and doesn't yet have accurate data on the replacement. Complete one full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle — screen on to around 3%, then charge to 100% without interruption — and the IC will lock onto the new curve. Readings stabilise after that first calibration cycle.

Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my BlackView A8 — it's only charging slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes won't negotiate the fast charge protocol with an uncalibrated BMS. This is normal and not a fault with the battery. Let the phone complete one full slow charge to 100%, then unplug and discharge normally. On the second charge cycle, plug in and check whether fast charge resumes — the BMS handshake completes once the IC has one full cycle of data from the new cell.
