Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BQ Strike Power — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (5514G)
This is a 3.85V, 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery built to the 5514G specification for the BQ Strike Power smartphone. It replaces the original cell when capacity has degraded or the battery is physically damaged. Dimensions are 78.50 × 58.80 × 6.00mm — confirm clearance before installation.
- Strike Power cell compatibility: The Strike Power uses a single Li-Polymer cell at 3.85V nominal. The 5514G connector and BMS handshake are specific to this platform — voltage rail and pin layout match the original charge IC without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Strike Power unit. The BMS accepted the new cell on the first cycle, charge IC engaged correctly, and protection circuits — overvoltage, undervoltage, and short-circuit — all triggered at expected thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
A new Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage-drop curve than a worn original cell. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's curve, so it misreads remaining capacity. Under modem or screen load, the cell voltage drops sharply below the shutdown threshold before the OS registers low battery. One full discharge cycle — letting the phone reach automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100% — allows the coulomb counter to recalibrate. After two to three cycles, the reported percentage and actual cell voltage will align.
Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage — the phone will show no response to the power button or charger. Connect the phone to a wall adapter, not a PC port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a safe rate until voltage rises above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9–3.0V, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my BQ Strike Power still showing the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new 5514G cell?
The fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to your old, degraded cell — it does not reset automatically when you swap the battery. The coulomb counter is now tracking a cell it has no reference data for, so the percentage display drifts. Run one complete cycle: discharge the phone until it shuts off on its own, then charge to 100% without interruption at standard charge speed. After two to three full cycles the fuel gauge IC will have rebuilt its curve against the new cell and percentage accuracy will stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may not negotiate the fast-charge protocol until it has completed one standard charge-discharge cycle and confirmed the new cell's impedance profile. This is a BMS-side safeguard, not a fault with the replacement cell. Charge the phone fully once at standard speed, discharge it normally, then charge again — fast charging typically re-engages on the second or third cycle. If it does not resume after three cycles, check that the USB cable and adapter support the Strike Power's charge protocol, as the issue is often the cable, not the battery.
The BQ Strike Power feels warm near the battery while charging — is that normal with the new cell?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled. In the first few charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into a cell with more resistance than it expects, which generates more heat than you may have seen with the worn original. This is normal and reduces after three to five cycles as the cell conditions. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — disconnect it and check that the charge rate has not defaulted to maximum. Charge at standard speed for the first full cycle and monitor temperature against ambient.
