Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cingular Flex / Flex 4G LTE Flip — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HE402)
This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Cingular Flex and Flex 4G LTE Flip smartphones. It carries OEM part numbers HE402 and BPACD00001B and fits the ATTEA211101 variant as well. Install it when the original cell can no longer hold enough charge to keep the phone operational through a normal day of calls and messaging.
- Flex and Flex 4G LTE Flip compatibility: Both handsets share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — a single cell covers both. The 53.40 × 38.00 × 5.50mm footprint seats flush without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the Flex platform. The BMS accepted charge correctly, reported state-of-charge without error flags, and held rail voltage stable under simultaneous screen and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and complete one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated register — preventing erratic percentage readings from the first session.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Cingular Flex after a cell swap
A fresh cell does not automatically inherit the fuel gauge IC's learned discharge curve from the old battery. When the Flex's modem fires a high-current burst — during a call or a data sync — the new cell may drop below the shutdown threshold momentarily even though the reported percentage looks safe. The phone cuts power to protect itself. One complete, uninterrupted discharge-to-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and aligns the gauge to the actual cell curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at mid-percentage typically stop.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first few charges
A new cell arrives with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes its standard current profile into that resistance, and the extra energy dissipates as heat at the battery. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles as the cell's internal resistance settles. If the phone remains warm beyond the fifth charge or the battery compartment becomes hot to the touch, check that the charge IC is not stuck in a fast-charge mode — drop to a standard 5V/1A charger and monitor surface temperature on the next cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Cingular Flex shuts off at around 25% battery — why does it keep doing this after I put in the new cell?
The fuel gauge IC on the Flex was calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, not the new one. When the modem draws a high-current burst, the new cell's voltage dips below the cutoff threshold momentarily even though the displayed percentage looks fine, and the phone shuts down. Run one full uninterrupted discharge — use the phone normally until it powers itself off — then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my Flex jumps around erratically after I replaced the battery — sometimes it reads 60%, then suddenly 80%.
Erratic percentage readings happen because the coulomb counter has no valid data for the new cell's discharge curve yet — it is interpolating against the old cell's stored profile. The fix is one complete, uninterrupted discharge and recharge cycle with fast charging disabled. After that cycle the fuel gauge IC maps the actual capacity curve of the new cell and the percentage stabilises. If jumping continues past the second cycle, the BMS may need a full reset — power the phone off completely for 60 seconds before the next charge.
My Cingular Flex won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V the BMS entered a lockout state to prevent damage — it will not accept a normal charge. Connect the phone to a low-current charger (5V/0.5A or a standard USB port, not a fast charger) and leave it connected for at least 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The BMS recovery circuit trickle-charges the cell back above the 2.5V threshold, after which the phone will boot and accept a normal charge cycle.
