Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honor X8 4G (TFY-LX1 / LX2 / LX3) — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB416492EFW)
This is a 3.87V, 4000mAh (15.48Wh) Li-Polymer cell built to fit the Honor X8 4G smartphone. It replaces OEM part HB416492EFW across the TFY-LX1, TFY-LX2, and TFY-LX3 hardware variants. If your X8 4G shuts off unexpectedly or won't hold a charge through a normal day, this is the direct cell swap.
- TFY-LX1, LX2, LX3 compatibility: All three regional variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits all three. No wiring adapters or bracket modifications needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an X8 4G unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault codes, cell voltage held stable under display and modem load, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing percentage jumps and premature low-battery warnings.
Why the X8 4G shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a battery swap
The X8 4G uses a coulomb counter tied to the fuel gauge IC, which was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. After a cell swap, the stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage-versus-capacity profile. When the modem fires a high-current burst — during a call or data sync — the new cell's voltage dips below the shutdown threshold even though the gauge still reads 20–30%. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge resets the coulomb counter and eliminates this cliff. After that cycle, the reported percentage tracks actual cell state accurately.
Honor X8 4G not powering on after sitting in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge roughly 2–3% per month in storage. If the phone sat unused for several months, the cell voltage may have dropped below 2.5V per cell — the threshold where the BMS locks out to prevent damage. The device will show nothing when you press the power button. Connect it to a wall charger, not a PC port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; a wall adapter delivers enough current to wake the BMS from lockout. If the charge icon appears and the phone boots, let it reach 100% before the first full use cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Honor X8 4G shows the battery percentage jumping around erratically after I fitted the new cell — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old battery, so the percentage readout is unreliable until it recalibrates. Run one complete cycle — drain the phone until it shuts off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that cycle the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's actual curve and the percentage stabilises.
Fast charging stopped working on my X8 4G after the battery replacement — the phone only slow-charges now.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes defaults to a lower current rate while it verifies the new BMS handshake. This is normal behaviour and not a fault. Charge the phone fully once at the slower rate, then disconnect and reconnect with the fast charger. Most X8 4G units resume the proprietary fast-charge protocol from the second cycle onward. If it still slow-charges after two full cycles, check that the USB-C cable is rated for fast charging — the phone will drop to standard current if the cable cannot negotiate the higher voltage.
The X8 4G feels noticeably warm near the back panel while charging with the new battery — should I be concerned?
A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a worn cell, so the charge IC works harder to push current in during the first few cycles. This produces more heat than you may have noticed with the degraded original battery. The warmth should reduce after three to five full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone gets hot enough to trigger a charging-paused warning on-screen, remove the case to improve airflow and avoid charging on soft surfaces — charge on a hard, flat surface until the cell has broken in.
