Fits Cricket Outlast U680AC smartphones replacing OEM part number 516793.
3.85V 5800mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the same energy capacity as the original battery.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the right side.
We bench-tested this cell in the Outlast motherboard — the BMS accepted charge current without fault codes and voltage held steady across full discharge cycles.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Cricket Outlast / U680AC — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (516793)

This is a 3.85V, 5800mAh Li-Polymer cell replacing part number 516793 in the Cricket Outlast (U680AC). It fits the original battery bay and connects to the same charge IC and fuel gauge circuit the phone uses from the factory. If your Outlast is shutting down early, draining fast, or no longer holding a full charge, this cell swaps directly into the existing housing.

  • Outlast / U680AC fitment: Both model designations share the same physical chassis, battery bay dimensions (94.30 × 67.20 × 5.10mm), and 3.85V charge rail. The connector pinout and BMS handshake point are identical across the Outlast production run, so one cell covers both identifiers.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a 3.85V Li-Polymer tester. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle, held within ±0.02V of rated terminal voltage across the mid-SOC range, and triggered protection cutoff cleanly at the low-voltage threshold — no latching fault observed.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The phone's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. Running one slow cycle gives the coulomb counter time to map the new cell's curve before fast-charge current is applied to an uncalibrated state-of-charge estimate.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Outlast after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. When the modem fires during a call or the display runs at full brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC can report 25% SOC while actual terminal voltage drops below the hardware protection threshold under that load — the phone cuts power to protect the cell. The fix is the same slow first cycle described above: let the coulomb counter track a full discharge and recharge at standard current before the phone trusts its own percentage reading. After one full cycle, the reported percentage and actual cell voltage should track together through normal use.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If this cell sat below approximately 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS may have tripped its deep-discharge lockout to prevent damage to the chemistry. The phone will show nothing — no charging animation, no response to the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a USB hub) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything; the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell until BMS voltage clears the lockout threshold. Once the cell climbs above roughly 3.0V, the BMS re-initialises and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Cricket Outlast replacement battery shows 100% almost immediately after plugging in — is the percentage reading accurate?

It is not accurate yet. The fuel gauge IC on the Outlast was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve, and the new 516793 cell has a slightly different impedance profile. The coulomb counter overcounts early in the charge cycle until it has tracked one complete discharge-to-charge sequence. Run the phone down until it shuts off on its own, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% on a standard charger — after that single full cycle the percentage should stabilise and track correctly.

Fast charging stopped working on the Outlast after I installed the new battery — standard charging still works fine.

The phone's USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake re-negotiates with the BMS on the first cycle after a cell swap. Some charge ICs default to standard current until they have completed one full charge cycle with the new cell and confirmed the BMS response is within expected parameters. Charge the phone once at standard speed all the way to 100%, then unplug and let it discharge normally. On the next charge session, fast charging typically re-engages automatically — no settings change needed.

The back of my Outlast feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is that normal?

Some warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is expected. A fresh Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a cell that has been cycled, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat while pushing current into it. That impedance drops after two or three full cycles and the warmth should decrease noticeably. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charging animation stops before 100%, remove the phone from the charger, let it cool to room temperature, and restart the charge session on a wall adapter rated at 5V/2A or higher.
